  1. Niko- the truck itself is a '58 or '59 GM- Modelhaus sells these trucks as curbside kits, or you could possibly rework the AMT '55/57 kits into one. Not sure what kit or aftermarket suppliers have similar wheels to that.
  2. I'm going to turn one into a full-detail Lincoln Futura. At least that's the plan.
  3. Amazing how well all those different parts mesh into your design! I'll continue drooling over this one.
  4. Huh... weird! Wonder who casts that one?
  5. Must have been a mix-up there, the R&R Safari does have a Pontiac body-
  6. Right about now, I'm wishing I had another '61 Olds F-85 kit in my stash!
  7. Years ago, SAE ran a Sketchpad illustration featuring an old Craftsman series AMT '59 Edsel kitbashed with the Revell Retractable. I'm thinking of trying it with the newer tool '58 kit. John- never realized the '59's had more standardized sheetmetal than the previous two years models. Since the retractable was such a low production car, I wonder why they even bothered continuing it into '59. Perhaps to pay off the engineering costs? I remember reading it was originally designed for Lincoln, but it would have made the Lincoln so expensive, the execs at FoMoCo figured putting the feature on the less-expensive Ford made more sense.
  8. A shame she's painted up and foiled all pretty... but only because now I know there's no shot of this beauty being temporarily loaned to a resin caster!
  9. I've wanted one of these kits for a while... so I can stuff a big, honkin' V8 in it!
  10. YIKES! Never had the blade shatter like that (knock on wood), but I did once have a chunk of plastic I was cutting fly up and go into my eye. Instinctively, I blinked, and the hunk ended up under my eyelid. Getting it out was NOT pleasant...
  11. Yeah, I doubt we'll see a wagon, due to the reasons Charlie just pointed out. I'd love a 4-door '72 Cutlass kit, too, but let's just say I am NOT holding my breath!
  12. I've heard a few negative things, but you know what? The guy makes some good stuff, and I've got a few pieces from Reliable on my wants list. From what I've seen, yeah- some people have some issues, but I've heard about as many who had good experiences with him. And from what Darrin says, Don sounds like my kinda people.
  13. Yep- the tires for mine were about the only fly in the ointment as far as I was concerned. Other than that, it looks to be a terrific kit.
  14. I believe today the car has a Ford Y-Block, or small block Chevy with Ford Y-block valve covers and air cleaner. I don't remember which. There was an article on it in Custom Rodder a few years back, I'll see if I can find it- it did mention the engine, I don't recall if it included a photo of the engine, but I think there was one underhood shot.
  15. Wow! Love what you have in mind for the grille. I really need to look into those gaming kits more.
  16. Love that color! And love the Turbo Coupes. This one will be cool.
  17. Very nice. I guess I like Maryland's color scheme! Zero luck at my local Wal Nut (though they're winding down inventory to move into the new 'Super Center' across the street), so I suppose I'll order mine online. I'm thinking of turning one into a Lincoln MKS.
  18. The AMT '70 roof is the same as the '72 Cutlass 'formal' roof, a lot of guys rolled their own that way. And Dave is right- the fastback style has been done on every other kit of a Cutlass this vintage. I'd say odds are better than ever of seeing Revell kit the formal version. I mean, who'd have thunk any mainstream styrene kit manufacturer would have kitted a Chevy 150 Utility Sedan until Revell actually went out and did it? Then again, if it's anything like what Revell has done with its Tri-Five Chevy and '32 Ford kits, who's to say they won't offer a '72 with BOTH roofs at some point? I'm pretty sure a hardtop Cutlass from Revell will happen, only time will tell when and which one.
  19. Very nice, especially in 1:43 scale!
  20. In addition to being sold as an Austin and a BMW, it was illegally copied in Japan as a Datsun. Might need to build one with a Z-car engine one o' these days!
  21. Is it similar to this one? http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/kit-contents/minicraft/rat-trap-pick-em-up/
  22. Wasn't aware of him participating in LSR, but I knew he was an accomplished pilot/aero engineer. Now I'm curious!
  23. I'd put money on a Boss 302 variant being produced at some point in the not so distant future.
  24. Yep- I think it was on Nova. If I recall, it wasn't the head guy, but the cheif mechanic Rick who died (blood clot). I've got it on VHS somewhere.
