  1. Headed out to gas up the car this morning on my way to the hardware store, and what do my wandering eyes see at the local mom & pop restaraunt? Well, pictures speak louder than words... Turns out the car owners were having breakfast inside, and getting ready to head out to a car show out East of Ithaca.
  2. Totally sick... I can't imagine what this puppy would cost to build in 1:1, especially with that trick suspension and Boss 429 mill! I might need to buy me a caseload or two of these resin kits!
  3. Welcome aboard! Glad you see you aren't Van Hagar!

  4. I don't think driving on ice would be so bad... just that instead of driving over an iced-over road, you are driving over actual ice atop a lake. THAT might give me pause...
  5. I see a '76 Chevette with a Mustang II grille! Never knew Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles were employed as product managers for Palmer...
  6. Looks 'acceptable'. It's certainly better, proportions-wise, than the old Nitto Mustang II! I'm planning a drag car, so I can live with a few gaffes here and there. Spike- I was never even aware there was an MPC Skyhawk- I'll keep my eyes peeled now, though! Thanks for the photos!
  7. I dunno- I'll have to go with the first version. With the full-width grille on the second version, it kind of looses the traditonal Mustang look. Still, the secnd version looks WAAAAAAAAAAY better than a '71-'73, which tried a bit to hard to look like a '69 Shelby. A fat, slab-sided, '69 Shelby.
  8. I'm not sure about this "in a trucker way", but I do concur she's hot!
  9. If you want to take some pictures, feel free. I can't seem to find any images of the unbuilt kit online (and few decent images of built examples). A guy I know has this exact kit sealed, but he will not open it... unless, of course, I cough up the $20 he wants for it first!
  10. C'mon... who'd you rather run into at a dark, lonely truck stop... her or Hugh Roland!?
  11. I was thinking along the same lines...
  12. I've had fairly good (but mixed) results drybrushing, and using a toothpick to apply paint to lettering and other surfaces. I've had far better luck applying BMF to the section while still in bare plastic, then priming and painting as I normally would, and rubbing the paint off the raised areas with a cloth or VERY gentle sanding with VERY fine grit paper. It really works well on all but the most finely-engraved details.
  13. Hey- Lisa Kelly is back for this season!
  14. Just wondering, has anyone built this kit, or does anyone at least have any shots of the kit contents? I'm a little leery of these old Japanese kits, because quite a few of them have proportion problems and many were originally motorized, and that really compromises the interior and chassis. Any hiccups of that sort with this kit?
  15. I'll also reccomend the dullcote, and caution you to avoid the Krylon brand dull clear coat! The Testors Dullcote will dry on vinyl, the Krylon (which I believe is acrylic enamel) does not. Ditto Dupli-Color's Acrylic Enamels and Lacquers.
  16. I'd like to see a first gen International Scout- full kit or use the Scout II kit as a donor.
  17. I've found old, long OOP kits at antique and curio shops, sometimes for a screaming deal, sometimes not so much.
  18. You should! It would be cool. (You know, reiterating what I said earlier!)
  19. Alrightie... I must be thinking of another kit. Didn't Tamiya make a 1:24 7? Or am I hallucinating? (Again?)
  20. Mark, I always love your 7 buildups, but I must ask... at this point, why do you even bother starting with the kit?
  21. That's certainly true. In the Chicagoland area, you're probably more used to seeing Cadillacs... their trunks loaded down with the bodies of the 'whacked'...
  22. Harry- have you ever tried a '70 Mustang with hideaway headlamps? It would've been cool looking. I have a suspicion that the styling department had precisely that in mind, but the bean counters nixed it, and they just slapped on those stupid, standard sealed beams in the grille.
  23. Truer words were seldom spoken!
  24. You are correct- I believe these are 1/24.
  25. Very cool 'Liner! And Zappa rules, too!
