  1. I'm impressed you got it to balance on the rear wheels.
  2. One of the best builds of this kit I've seen. The downplaying of the chrome is great.
  3. Wow......great how to notes. Definitely have some ideas to try on future builds.
  4. I'd love to see Atlantis reissue all of this Corvair powered series.
  5. Concerning the C cab.....could it be a new tool or a tool that Revell had cut and never issued? It is not derived from the Pie Wagon, that body has a definitive inner curve to it from bottom to top, I'm told its not the Paddy Wagon because that tool is supposedly in China (and I'm not questioning people who I view as either experts or near experts). The MPC Fire Truck is too narrow (about a person and a half wide and has several body details that are different. Those differences would not be worth modifying from the tool. It really is a small tool to cut. Could that be what this is? Or did Revell actually cut the tool in the early 70's to get some more mileage out of the Tweedy Pie and instead of offering the C Cab offer us the Rod Father and Canned Heat. Maybe someone with contacts with Atlantis can get an answer.
  6. What scale is this? Good grief! What kind of magnification are you using? Everything I see with this build is absolutely amazing.
  7. I wonder how long before someone swaps the Meng underpinnings with the Fujimi. Both build beautifully but to my eye, the Fujimi body shape looks more accurate.
  8. On a side note.....I'd REALLY like to find those figures.
  9. I thought of that as well being a modified Paddy Wagon body. I'm betting if anything its a modified Paddy Wagon. Rotate it level. Remove the windscreen and fill in the side window. Then the name on the sample. "Smokey's Barbecue" with the pig image. Remember the 60's slang terms for the police?
  10. Any info on the C cab besides the former Miss Deal?
  11. I just purchased a 1960's build with corduroy used for tuck and roll. It doesn't have the look of leather but looks amazing.
  12. This is one of those kits I bought with great anticipation, opened it and realized it was unbuildable to create a good result. You're proving me wrong. This is a great build!
  13. I was going to ask where you got the titanium, but I won't ask.....I'm sure I couldn't afford it.
  14. I'd love to see create instructional youtube videos. Your work is amazing. What I'm seeing is what I'd love to be able to create. ABSOLUTELY amazing!
  15. Charlie: Do you mean the door and hood outlines? By 1970, many of the funny cars had shallow openings or even smooth areas for the doors and hood.
  16. Casey's list is really interesting to me. There's been very few releases from Round2 in the past year to get me to consider adding them to my stash. This list is different. AMT1253/12 1:25 Tommy Ivo Rear Engine Dragster- THANK you....please be the streamliner with good decals. I've got original releases but haven't thought of screwing up such a rare kit. MPC942/12 1:25 Californian 1968 Olds Toronado Custom- I know its weird, but I've got a built kit. This one will be added to the stash. I can only hope for a stock Toronado. Truly one of the closest to being a custom car from Detroit like the boat tail Rivera. MPC961/12 1:20 Rupp Super Sno-Sport Snow Dragster- I missed this one the last time. I need one now. MPC964/12 1:25 Ramchargers Dodge Challenger Funny Car- this one will be interesting. Will it be a reissue of the original Ramcharger or the Soapy Sales with different decals. The Ramcharger used the Logghe style chassis while the Soapy Sales is a digger style. What would be really interesting would be the Ramcharger Dart.
  17. This was said earlier.....I agree. Holy sweet mammajamma. That is some kinda fine.
  18. Yes please.
  19. Most Jo-Hans look have great bodies and engines. Under hood detail is like 1960's kits. Interior has nice touches but overall detail like door panels is lacking. Wheels and tires are nice for the time period. DON"T flip it over and look at the chassis. They're terrible. The classic cars like their Mercedes are exceptional.
  20. So I found this. Looking at the Revell body I FINALLY see what's wrong. Take a look at the greenhouse. Instead of Revell moving the engine forward, the pushed the windshield back. The greenhouse needs to be extended forward to make it look right. The posted model used a chassis from a 1320 diecast but I found a build here: https://automodeler.com/news/strip-track-and-trail-group-build-gallery that shows it. So want to correct the Revell body, take some out of the hood and lengthen the greenhouse to compensate.
  21. The Brutus looks like a JoHan Mustang. I will try to find a picture of the Revell Mustang and try to do a side by side comparision.
  22. With the Hobby Search icon on the bottom, I'm guessing this isn't fantasy art. This is the Charger F/C going back to the Mr Norm's Charger from Polar Lights. With the exception of the pad printed tires, nothing new. I predict this one will show up at Ollie's where I'll buy a case, just in case.
  23. I was so anxious to get the Mustang only to open it and go ughhhh. I challenge you to find any Mustang funny from that era that that body replicates. I know there were several companies casting funny car bodies but without a doubt that was one of Revell's worst bodies. I do hope Atlantis brings back the 1/25 series although I'm not sure what body I'd prefer. It will be interesting to see the response to the Camaro when it returns. That body is off but I've seen people make it very workable.
  24. You always throw one or two things at me that's really impressive. In this set of photos its the welds on the tank. Not picture perfect but very realistic for the era this car is designed to replicate. Today's welding equipment might produce a better weld. A car from 1966? This is dead on.
