  1. I'm trying to remove a huge amount of paint build up on a paint stand I acquired. I dunked it into an open container of Purple Power which I'm guessing is a generic Castrol Super Clean. It's barely touched it. Am I doing it wrong by not having it sealed up, the generic Purple Power lacking strength or am I expecting too much of it? If I'm expecting too much of it, any suggestions? Thanks, Mike
  2. That may be the fairest thing said about FSM. While they have lead time to incorporate some elements of SA in the December issue, it will take three or so issues to work it in. A big factor of how much automotive that will be included will be the advertisers that migrate to FSM. If the ad rates or significantly more, many of the cottage industries won't make the move. Remember page count as well as article content will be a reflection of advertisers. Back to Topic In sorting through my magazines I found several MCMs that I didn't remember reading. Going back five or so years and this magazine was absolutely outstanding! Here's to the relaunch being as successful.
  3. Something from Model Factory Hiro......it may take my lifetime to build it and another to afford it.
  4. Thank goodness you removed the wipers.
  5. I thought about it and just didn't trust the website.
  6. I need to find one of these. I love this build.
  7. cheyenne93....your build reminds me so much of camping with my family in the late 60's- early 70's.
  8. The price of the KA kit for the 1/12 GT40 is $170 but it often sells for more due to its scarcity.
  9. This is a great build that really replicates Indy cars around the late 40's-early 50s.
  10. I'd love to find these. I wish they were still available.
  11. I'm curious if the engine was shared with the Grim Reaper. Your build is great. I agree the flake looks right out of the 60's with flake molded into the fiberglass.
  12. Easy to reshape the non chrome part. The tank sides could be a challenge. I bet few would notice. The front end would be a the true test of skill. As for the build.....that's a whole lot better looking than I expected.
  13. I have one in the waiting stack. Yours is a top notch build.
  14. I do hope that you have a favorite museum to donate this to. This is is very close to a Gerald Wingrove build.....Stunning.
  15. 6 hours one way.....
  16. I'm trying to buy a collection that's about six hours away. There's about 80 standard sized 1/25 models in it. Any good suggestions? I can't justify the drive.
  17. I remember JD.....this is a fitting tribute.
  18. It did have a stamped steel frame. The engine, tank, seat and side covers could be used. The forks and fenders would be a problem. Here's a good page on the Dream. http://soucycars.com/cars_for_sale/1965_honda_dream_305
  19. I keep looking at this kit and wonder how hard it would be to convert it into a Honda Dream.
  20. Resin body? AMT offered COTs but only offered Chevys. Or could it be a diecast?
  21. We're there already. I remember vending at a show (remember those?) and I was told my prices was too high because they could get it at HL for 40% off. HL is doing what WallyWorld did to the mom and pop stores in small towns to hobby shops in driving them out of business.
  22. The marbelizer is a great effect. Can you tell me more about it?
  23. Absolutely disgusting. Very realistic. I bet I'd be foolish enough to try to restore it. I did one similar but didn't have the fender rot. on the arches. The rust at the door is 100% accurate. On a side note, my '65 hood was aluminum so it wouldn't rust. Not sure about other years. This is a great kit to start with. Yours is a great build.
  24. Every time I look at this build, I'm impressed.
  25. I love it.....a creative invention when you're used to seeing one too many '32 Fords which all look alike except the paint.
