  1. I'll admit to wasting an hour or two watching them.
  2. I salute you doing an A/FC. It seems like that truly is a forgotten class.
  3. At least I got the H right. The point is still the same. Most cars in its eliminator were much higher up in the category. I've tried to find the records from the early 70's to find how much of a head start it often got. In many cases both cars would pre stage, the tree would count down for the Preperation H car (which ran on or below the record), and after the third bulb or later (full tree), the other lane would start counting down.
  4. I think the signs are repeated. Note the left and right signs above the people in the black and white photo. On the counter is a sign on each side of the crew for Fresh Ice Cold lemonade. The signs hanging from the ceiling shows Egg on a Bun, another sandwich fresh on a bun and the strawberry shortcake 15 cents. I would bet the signs alternated with two signs changing ever other sign.
  5. I remember that car. I think everyone hated to race it. As a H/G car it almost got a half track head start, or so it seemed. I wonder how many drivers red lighted against it.
  6. Bloody amazing work.
  7. Looking at the model piece I'd try back sanding it. Might be a lot easier and more true to scale.
  8. Our LHS has been open for curbside pick up which was allowed under our state orders.
  9. How did you reduce the windows....those are a great improvement.
  10. Daytonas had four lugs in 1984-5. In 1986 they gained five lugs. I owned a 1986......great car. I'd love to have another.
  11. This is a kit I'd never consider buying. Now I will. This build has so many nice elements to it. I love the concept. The build is fitting the concept of a used race car that's not used up. I'm looking forward to learn from this build.
  12. Thanks for the pictures.....I need to learn how to use my milling machine better. Your work is quite inspiring and rather amazing. Where are you getting your tooling? Also how are you drilling the holes and not snapping the drill bit?
  13. HOLD ON TO THEM...they are a snapshot of a time that's gone by that most parents would love to go back to.
  14. I'm late to the party.....boy did I miss a lot! Hopefully the girl jumping out of the cake is next! Seriously I have Sherline equipment and I'm getting it slowly on line. I appreciate your pictures. They're a good guide to get me started. If you do it again, any chance of videos? This is amazing.
  15. Fantastic news....this is a true benchmark in American custom coach building, maybe the last of its breed.
  16. It appears the Piranha is out of stock.....darn it. I need the decals for it.
  17. Looks like more than a quick and dirty slump buster. Its very nice. What did you do with the glass. It looks much more realistic than most kits.
  18. In a sick, very perverse way, I like it.
  19. The comments on the Thomas Flyer surprise me....maybe it shouldn't. AMT produced a bunch of that kit and very few people rushed out to get one. Okay, no one did. I've heard more than one person desire to buy one. It reminds me of the original Knight Rider kit.....thing was more common than pimples on a thirteen year old. I bet know if you had a sealed one at a show, there'd be a fist fight over it.
  20. Thanks for what you do for the group members!
  21. Couldn't make up your mind on a donor kit? ? I hope you have WIP pictures in case you enter it in a show. It so well done, most would not believe it had that extensive of bodywork. VERY nicely done.
  22. Now that was unexpected.
  23. Reducing font size shouldn't cause pixelation. The majority of fonts are vector based and should change size without a problem. Of course what your printer does to them is another thing.
  24. There's so much right with this build. I absolutely love it! Makes me want to rush to my local hobby shop and pick up the 29 Roadster......oh shucks.
  25. I'm working on a dragster and I plan on using some resin cast slicks. They don't have sidewall markings. The time frame of the car would be the white lettered Goodyear Blue Streaks. Did they have Goodyear on both sidewalls? If they did have the lettering on both sides, how was the lettering positioned in relationship to each other?
