  1. So the trikes will be dead on arrival? At $21, they'll sell at $28, I really hope HL carries them so I can use the coupon. If not I'll wait until they're worthless on eBay or shows.
  2. I saw a built up Mailbox at the Cincy show this spring. Great build. Since then I've been looking for one. I hope its priced appropriate. The Pyro reissue of the Honda Dream was dead on arrival for me when it was priced at the same price as a full car kit. Apparently I was not alone as this was one of hte kits HL blew out in their clearance sale. I remember the MPC chopper kits selling for about half of the price of a full car kit when MPC first issued them. The engine is very nice for its size. I fear if it has something like a $28 retail price this will be the only kit from the series produced.
  3. Every time I see the wood masters for various kits, I'm amazed at the quality of the craftsmanship.
  4. Concerning the Baldwin-Motion Vegas, unless Round2 makes major changes to make the kits more accurate, all you'd need to do is swap the rear tires. If Round2 keeps the Solar front seats those could be swapped out with a flat panel added to make it look like the rear seat was folded down. The MPC was far closer to a Baldwin-Motion street car than a tube framed pro stocker. Either way, I want a couple.
  5. I'm amazed the Vegas are seeing light of day. I do hope the grill and bumper get separated. The hood scoop looks interesting.
  6. Thanks for taking the lead on the NNL. While you're far from nameless, your efforts helped re-energize the hobby.
  7. A very personal type of self abuse.
  8. Toy may consider it crude, I consider it beautiful.
  9. Watching......I could be interested in a set.
  10. Use the Ford where you're steeling the wheels and maybe the tires.
  11. That's quite impressive.
  12. This just looks like an April Fools Day joke.
  13. A really cool build up with this chassis is to use it as an early 70's street rod with either a T or Bantam body. Of course if you really want a challenge morph this body with the Revell Vega to make a Wonder Wagon. Doable, great result but a heck of a challenge.
  14. And you doubted me?
  15. Anyone have a source for a left hand drive?
  16. I've got several of these. They're a challenge.
  17. The decals shown are from Indycals. Top drawer quality.
  18. Take the JoHan chassis and soak it in brake fluid for a week. Then get the AMT '67 Mustang chassis. Very close to the same chassis as the Maverick but a whole lot more detail.
  19. I remember when this body first came out there was a lot of discussion that the body had areas of inaccuracy. There were posts on how to fix the body on the old SLM website. Any insights on how to correct this? THANKS!
  20. I'm not sure if this is a move that will make things cheaper for teams or whether it will harm the little teams even more as their current inventory becomes obsolete.
  21. Another month......more money saved for the after market.
  22. What article and magazine?
  23. I have a Sherline so I do have the equipment. I wasn't sure about if it was done cnc or not. I'm guessing you drew it out and simply set the start and end points and made the cut. I've made a few brass chassis before and getting the sides even is nearly impossible. That's a project I need to try. Final question and/or, I'm guessing Harrisburg, PA. I hope you'll post shows you're exhibiting at.
  24. So much to learn here. When you did the frame templates, did you free hand them? What material are they in (looks like particle board) and what type or mill bit. Also, did you adjust the pattern for the different size tubes? This is SOOOOOO killer. Finally what Harrisburg?
  25. If only they'd correct MPC's dragster bodies. The two Garlits kits bodies look two sizes too big.
