  1. I've been in contact with Moebius concerning the Nova..... From that conversation:

The all plastic kit was a reissue of the old die cast and plastic kit. As for the wheels being chrome plated or not, Dave is 100% correct. They were painted but never chrome plated from the factory.
  3. Maybe the Tamiya Putty with liquid cement to help it sink in.
  4. I recently saw a video of filling plastic seams. I'm having a senior moment and can't remember how it was done. What I do remember was after applying the filler, the use of some liquid was used to smooth the seam filler. I know it is a vague description but if you can help refresh my memory, I'd appreciate it.
  5. I'd agree. The roll cage is different although Logghe had three or four designs. The first Eliminator 1 had a roll cage that looked like an upright altered. The Eliminator II had a more full cage.
  6. Thanks for the wisdom. So to summarize, the chassis in the MPC Cougar and Judge (since they're both obtainable) are Stage 1's. The PL chassis is a Stage 2 and the Revell Hawaiian is a Stage 3. A bit of reference:
  7. I contacted Chuck via eBay. He's currently taking a well deserved break and hopes to return to selling on eBay in early November.
  8. Logghe chassis were molded by several manufacturers. These include AMT (the rather poor one under their Vega/Gremlin and maybe the Funny Hugger 1). MPC with two or three versions, including the stage 1 under the Cougar and a stage 2 under the Judge and others and a third under the very rare Candies and Hughes Cuda. Revell with the hot mess under their Funny Hugger Camaro, Maverick and Mustang. Polar Light with their one size fits most chassis under Mustangs, Cuda and Chargers. Revell with the Chi Town Hustler and finally the Jo-Han chassis included with several funny cars such as their Hornet. With that list in mind, I'm trying to build an ACCURATE Dyno Don Cougar. I have samples of each of these. I'm curious as to which chassis the collected wisdom has as their choice of best.
  9. And the 1963 Vette looks like a Jaguar XKE. With that said, I asked my wife her opinion. She likes it, unlike my Audi TT. I asked her about buying one and she asked me if I still wanted to retire. I'm hoping to see the convertible version before I go window shopping.
  10. I sent a message to his eBay user ID. I'll report back what I find.
  11. I went looking for the Pontiac/Astre on the famous auction site. Noticed several people trying to unload their originals. I also found this completed auction of the double car blob.....If those molds are lost, let's hope they're not found. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-AMT-Pontiac-Astre-or-Chevrolet-Vega-Funny-Car-1-25-Model-Kit-T244-/183783353403?hash=item2aca576c3b%3Ag%3AbcEAAOSw23dcvQk7&nma=true&si=UM8w%2FRY3lgxspZpWqSpgsLVG%2FDI%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  12. So is the Vega canceled?
  13. I didn't know about the bally pan, are you referring to the engine diaper for oil downs or something else?
  14. What scares me, this car is from 1992 and its one of the latest top fuel kits released. That's 27 years ago. Great build......but 27 years between dragster kits?
  15. A few thoughts and comments... Interesting to note the Willys doesn't include the coupe body. I find it interesting the motor is labeled a Drag racing motor. I'm pretty sure that's an Olds and one of the few of those available. Worth buying a few more for the parts. To really make an accurate pick up, find the Drag City Casting body. This takes the best elements of the Revell coupe and merges it with the AMT Willys. Neither the AMT or Revell Willys pick ups are great. AMT missed on the front end and the less said about Revell's the better. I've tried to decode some of the other drag pieces. 1/25 1976 Chevy Vega Funny Car- the only 1976 Vega funny car offered is the AMT with its attempt of a Logghe frame. Its also much closer to a 1974 front end. Has a pretty good big block Chevy in it and a few other parts worth stealing. I've often wondered if you had a stock Vega if you could make a good Vega wagon out of it. The body does appear pretty close to stock. If only Round2 would re-release the Vega Pro Stock that was promised three years ago. 1/25 Fooler Fueler Digger Dragster- I can't figure this one out at all. No images of it are available on line that Since Round2 does pretty good at licensing, I'm betting this is a reissue of the Digger dragster last offered with Stardust decals. It could also be the Hippie Hemi. Of course, there may be something in the Polar Light kits like the Snap Draggins that hasn't been issued and this is a totally new mold. Right.... 1/25 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Hemi Under Glass- This is a reissue of the old AMT kit that's been a couple of different things, Mad Mackerel or the HUG. Seems right as AMT seems to be dusting off the molds of their old A F/X inspired funny cars. Maybe they'll take a chance and offer the Chevelle again. 1/25 Don Garlits Wynns Jammer Dragster- I have close to a full case of these from the last issue. Last reissued as the Hemisphere dragster. This is one of the better dragster kits out there. For 1/24 front engined cars, this, the Revell Tony Nancy double set and the Tommy Ivo car are the three best. Each does a food job representing a different era in the evolution of the front engined dragster. Hopefully Round2 will improve the decals although they're already much better than the Garlits rear engined rail. Maybe they'll offer a bonus of both the clear body and one molded in regular plastic. If they do that, maybe they'll actually cut new molds and correct the body. Of course, I may also win the lottery.
  16. Almost era correct.... FAR out. That's Boss. I mean really groovy.
  17. My solution for the headlights would be to adapt either the buckets from AMT's Duster or Revell's Cuda.
  18. Dave that is a terrible model. The next time you're in Charleston please drop it off at my house. Just being neighborly. Dave has proven it build up very nicely. Maybe I'm missing something here. The supply of MPC Cudas is pretty scarce. That kit has severe headlight issues that does more to make it toy like than any errors on the Revell Cuda body. The JoHan Cuda is even rarer. It may look right from the side but its narrowed almost like a funny car. The only other commonly available Cudas is Monogram's 1/22 or maybe 1/24 Hemi Cuda. I do know as soon as I see this kit, its coming home with me. Revell's is not the only game in town. Just the most affordable quality product. I'm glad its available.
  19. I know its a bit after the fact, but any WIP photos? I've got two or three parts cars and yours looks like a great inspiration to see if I can make one good one out of them.
  20. I've got a couple of these and have heard horror stories about the decals. Besides, Platto any alternatives?

I just stumbled upon this. There is so much to like. What I really like is the fact you're not really changing it but rather enhancing it. If I ever get to mine, yours will be an inspiration.
  22. Do you have a link for the decals.....I'd like to see what they have available.
  23. I've often wondered how cool this kit could be built. Now I know. FANTASTIC build.
  24. Thanks.....that tells me what I wanted. I think I'll pass.
