  1. Hmmmmm........I'm in a market for a car that's unusual for my area, an Audi TT. The nearest one for sale that is interesting is four hours away. I go with cahs in hand with intent to drive it home. For upper echelon cars not unusual. You know what you want, and how you want it equipped. You've driven similar. Its been checked by a certified mechanic. Not that unusual.
  2. Oh that is sweet.
  3. Sadly I think the only way we'll see the JoHan kits reissued is if they're reverse engineered like the Monogram Dragon Wagon and Rommel's Rod. Is that likely? I can't see any one kit with enough buyers to make that happen.I'd love to see the AMC stuff reappear but to be realistic, AMC is quickly fading into memory such as Packard. The funny cars would be nice but both MPC and Revell have Mustangs in their inventory. AMT has a Pinto. MPC has a Challenger. While all of these are lesser quality they're available. MPC and Revell have Cudas. The Maverick and the Comet would be nice but I'm not waiting for it to appear.
  4. I've watched this thread and have a few thoughts (go figure). I love Snake's idea. It allows Revell to have new product at a lower price point that not only can be a Grandma purchase but also can add value to older molds. Some of those are sitting on my shelf while others I'd buy. The recent build of the Revell snapper by another magazine has really got me thinking about that whole series. New kits need more than one building version. I think many new builders like the creativity more so than the replica stock building. For example the first two kits I built with my father, okay watched him build, were a 1967 or 1968 MPC Bonneville and GTO with the spy gear. I loved the spy gear as a 10 year old. We need to encourage creativity in building. An excellent whatever with only one option is simply a whatever. Creativity allows it to be the builder's creation. Revell does need to have more new kits of newer cars but there is the question of sales. How many people bought the Audi R8 or other recent new kits? The statement about AMT and MPC branding is something that Round2 needs to be aware of. Maybe they should label these as AMT and MPC Classics. Easy change to the logo and it helps original kits maintain some of their value. Round2 needs to use a new manufacturer name for new tools. Maybe the Autoworld label would be a good choice.
  5. I like the two door version and would try this myself if I ever located the kit. Curious question. Do you have any clue when this got off track? The mock ups look like you you had everything set up correctly.
  6. Slixx made a couple of sheets for this model as well as maybe Platto. I'd look into those as replacements.
  7. I have to admit, I had to look for hints it wasn't a real car. Great job!
  8. I appreciate your skill in this. You've taken a very hard to find piece and had the courage to extensively and very subtly modify it to greatly improve it. Are you going to cast it?
  9. How do I get a Greg Wann grill?
  10. Did I miss the shifter build up? That's beautiful!
  11. Is this a custom? I thought all Monzas came stock with a small block, a Lenco and Goodyear slicks. Seriously, looks great.
  12. Ask Ed about it. He may not keep the website updated. Nothing loss checking to see if he has some.
  13. Snake.....I tried to send you Ed's contact info but I got a message you can't receive messages.
  14. Can you post the instructions?
  15. I wonder how many of this kit and its gasser cousins, the Anglia and Henry J and Austin have been started and left in the box? Looks good for one of the hardest kits to make look right.
  16. A photo might help us to fabricate one.

    Snow Cobra

I want that for this winter!
  18. Got one on the shelf. This reminds me I should pull it off the shelf.
  19. Both the Maverick and Vega would take a lot of new tooling instead of puling out existing molds and crafting new decals. The Jo-Han Maverick was an exceptional kit in its day. The interior tub and chassis would take recreating to fit today's market IF the other molds were to magically appear. MPC did the Vega. That kit would be successful as a nostalgia kit but lacks a lot compared to a modern kit. The best thing would be to retool and start over. The body is the only item that meets today's standards. I'd love to have the gassers and the pro stocks. I'd also love the winning lottery ticket.
  20. It has held up quite well. AS for the screen, it looks pretty accurate for the nets that were being used at that time. It captures the real car well.
  21. I really wish Round2 would bring this one back.
  22. 1/16 scale? Are you going to sell these? If so, I'm interested.
  23. This actually looks like a race car. Most models of this car look like models.
