This model would look great on my shelf. Absolutely beautiful build.

That is really nice. -
Was this built from the original AMT Flyin' wedge or the Prudhomme wedge? They don't share the same bodies.
-
Any idea how Platto prints them?

I see an order in my future.

I like what I see. Can you post a side view?

Strange as it seems four hole mag wheels were not totally unheard of in the 60's.

I'm finally at a point where I can start attending shows with some regularity since the kids have headed off to college. I'm curious as to how to find shows now. It used to be pretty easy, look in the other magazine for upcoming events but that doesn't seem that effective. Any good listings for upcoming events?

The Firestone 500s will be interesting to see. I hope they're big enough for early pro stocks. If so, I'll be buying those. The other kits look like Ollie's fodder.

In one of our conversations he said it would be out in the fall. Then went on to say he didn't know what year.
-
I've been in contact with Moebius concerning the Nova..... From that conversation:
-
The all plastic kit was a reissue of the old die cast and plastic kit. As for the wheels being chrome plated or not, Dave is 100% correct. They were painted but never chrome plated from the factory.
-
Maybe the Tamiya Putty with liquid cement to help it sink in.
-
I recently saw a video of filling plastic seams. I'm having a senior moment and can't remember how it was done. What I do remember was after applying the filler, the use of some liquid was used to smooth the seam filler. I know it is a vague description but if you can help refresh my memory, I'd appreciate it.

I'd agree. The roll cage is different although Logghe had three or four designs. The first Eliminator 1 had a roll cage that looked like an upright altered. The Eliminator II had a more full cage.

Thanks for the wisdom. So to summarize, the chassis in the MPC Cougar and Judge (since they're both obtainable) are Stage 1's. The PL chassis is a Stage 2 and the Revell Hawaiian is a Stage 3. A bit of reference:
-
I contacted Chuck via eBay. He's currently taking a well deserved break and hopes to return to selling on eBay in early November.
-
Logghe chassis were molded by several manufacturers. These include AMT (the rather poor one under their Vega/Gremlin and maybe the Funny Hugger 1). MPC with two or three versions, including the stage 1 under the Cougar and a stage 2 under the Judge and others and a third under the very rare Candies and Hughes Cuda. Revell with the hot mess under their Funny Hugger Camaro, Maverick and Mustang. Polar Light with their one size fits most chassis under Mustangs, Cuda and Chargers. Revell with the Chi Town Hustler and finally the Jo-Han chassis included with several funny cars such as their Hornet. With that list in mind, I'm trying to build an ACCURATE Dyno Don Cougar. I have samples of each of these. I'm curious as to which chassis the collected wisdom has as their choice of best.

And the 1963 Vette looks like a Jaguar XKE. With that said, I asked my wife her opinion. She likes it, unlike my Audi TT. I asked her about buying one and she asked me if I still wanted to retire. I'm hoping to see the convertible version before I go window shopping.

I sent a message to his eBay user ID. I'll report back what I find.

I went looking for the Pontiac/Astre on the famous auction site. Noticed several people trying to unload their originals. I also found this completed auction of the double car blob.....If those molds are lost, let's hope they're not found. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-AMT-Pontiac-Astre-or-Chevrolet-Vega-Funny-Car-1-25-Model-Kit-T244-/183783353403?hash=item2aca576c3b%3Ag%3AbcEAAOSw23dcvQk7&nma=true&si=UM8w%2FRY3lgxspZpWqSpgsLVG%2FDI%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I didn't know about the bally pan, are you referring to the engine diaper for oil downs or something else? -

What scares me, this car is from 1992 and its one of the latest top fuel kits released. That's 27 years ago. Great build......but 27 years between dragster kits?
