  1. This is becoming a great how to article.
  2. Same question..... "What was the starting point for the body? Camaro?"
  3. Now that's an oddball. Nice work.
  4. What about this? https://www.antiquesnavigator.com/d-371792/antique-vintage-nosco-plastics-toy-car-roadster.html
  5. I think the era of fossil fuels will end with my generation. It has effected my thought about future projects. Part of me would really love to build a street rod as a retirement project but realistically in 6-10 years I think fossil fuels will be hard to buy as will the cars I'd like to build. I, for one, can't get my head around a Model A that's hybrid power although I've seen a Porsche Speedster kit car that is electric that's really interesting. I do think the technology is getting there. Electric vehicles can be performance vehicles although I think that unless new battery technologies come along we may have issues getting batteries due to rare minerals being scarce.
  6. Why didn't I think of that?
  7. O ......heck yes! I love it!
  8. Please deliver a Lancia LC2 to my house. Then the Alfa. Please.
  9. I've long considered myself quite knowledgeable when it comes to soldering. I have to give Paul Budzik credit for teaching this old dog a few new tricks and reminding him of a few forgotten skills.
  10. NO, no and maybe even no. The trade section works. If you post something and someone wants what you post but lack what you're wanting they can offer. I've seen too many train wrecks with for sale sections. If you don't want to trade, which does make this forum a bit unique, there's other forums and Facebook groups.
  11. The Ivo rail in the AMT kit was Ivo's last front engined car from about 1970. The Barnstormer was about 1964. The engines are both hemis but the Barnstormer is a 392 such as found in the Revell Willys gasser and the AMT kit is a late hemi or 426. Rodders Jourrnal had a great article on either a restoration or recreation. Fremont Racing Specialties carries the decals. Joe Curtis or Fremont used to make the body. If I wasn't scratching the chassis, I'd use either the Tony Nancy double kit (requiring a new body) or the early Garlits rain.
  12. Folks it is actually a model of the 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler. I remember almost freaking out driving in back woods Kentucky when I drove past one of these up on blocks forty years ago. It made a lasting impression.
  13. Impressive.
  14. Not my style either but very well done. How did you enhance the panel lines? They're very good and look quite realistic.
  15. I'm looking at California Air unit. Supposed to be one of the quietest.
  16. I'm finally at the stage where I can consider adding a compressor to my hobby room. I might even get to start seriously building. My wife and I've agreed that I need to focus on a quiet compressor. I've read about California Air https://www.californiaairtools.com/ and Harbor Freight both sell compressors claimed to be quiet. https://www.harborfreight.com/2-gallon-12-hp-135-psi-ultra-quiet-oil-free-professional-air-compressor-64596.html Does anyone have any feedback on either product line? Specific model information and the like would be most helpful.
  17. I'd go with the Garlits kit. Much closer to the real thing although I do prefer the Ivo kit. What I'd really like to find are nice decals for SR 13 and the first rear engined car. The MPC kit just seems a bit lacking. Dr Daryl made the best decals for these cars but sadly he passed a few years ago.
  18. Kevin is one of several drivers of his era that just didn't get the career opportunities he should have had. I always thought he had great potential. It seems at the time if your were successful in Busch, you failed at the Cup level.
  19. Take a look at the AMT '68 Mustang. Pretty easy to get it to fit and a tremendous upgrade.
  20. I've often wondered if a Revell T-Bolt would be a good donor for the Falcon A F/X.
  21. These look so good I need to pull my untouched kit down and try my hand at it.
  22. I'm cleaning my garage. That Galaxie would fit in it quite nicely.
  23. I'm hoping the Firestone Indy 500 slicks make it to parts packs. I'd like a few sets of those for early pro stocks. The Garlits kit being reissued is disappointing. What I don't understand is why they don't redo the body to actually fit the chassis. It has always looked oversized.
  24. What about soft drink screw on lids to mix paint in?
  25. Super stock Mustang or early funny car.
