  1. It's confusing when they "scramble" movies. Look at Star Wars. There are supposed to be nine in the series. The first three that came out in the 70's were "episodes" 4, 5, and 6. The newest ones that came out recently are 1, 2, and 3. Supposedly, 7, 8, and 9 are coming out some time, not sure when. Only reason Lucas did the second three first was cause what he wanted to do for the first three was not possible at the time. Still, the first , eh, second three that came out first were pretty darn amazing for the time that they did come out. Confusing ain't it?
  2. I've once clear-coated over a recent black-trim job too soon. The clear-coat caused the black to run and it ruined the finish. So, I've learned to wait a good long while for the black to dry completely, then clear coat and it turned out perfect! I can imagine this thing really popping out at yea with all the details done, decals in place, and a good clean clear-coat! It'll be a gem for sure! Then when I'm satsified with this, onto the convertible! Still waiting on my Koenig Diablo and Koenig 911. Hopefully, they'll arrive here Friday!
  3. Kind of hard to fire your selfe isn't it?
  4. After doing the trimming and decal work yes. I always clear coat over my decals! Speaking of which, is it okay to use a Testors Model Masters Laqure clear coat over Tamiya's paints?
  5. Got a question. I plan on masking the areas where I want a nice clean line for hand-painting in the details such as the window trim, and the headlight buckets. How long should I wait for the paint to dry before sticking on the masking tape? I'm useing the 3M's blue masking tape. I dont' want to start masking, do my trim work, remove the tape, and find out I've removed the paint as well! EEEK! There won't be any spray painting here, I just want to mask for clean lines!
  6. Okay, but what's the best way of glueing on such tiny photo-etched parts? Particularly those nice emblems and logo's that you sometimes get?
  7. Speaking of that Porsche, a few years ago we were attending a car show held here at the Broadmore in Colorado Springs. After the show was over, the owner of a brand new yellow Porsche Carrera GT was showing off for his date and totally wrecked the car exiting out of the driveway. Needless to say the "girlfriend" was NOT impressed! Car was totalled, but everybody came out well. Upset, but well. At any rate, I'd like to add one of these cars to my collection. I have a nice large DVD movie collection, around 60 or so, and I try and collect models/figures relating to the movies and/or tv shows. So, that's why I was asking about the Ferrari, even though I dont' yet have a DVD of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
  8. Bare Metal Foil is tough to do and this look's very professional! WOW!
  9. Nice work so far! Does the springs for the suspension do any work, "compress-rebound" or are they just there for appearance? I've been wanting to do one of these Estima's and try my hands at chopping the top and lowering the roof line by a mm or two. I've even seen a real one done as a convertible and totally decked out in a racing theme!
  10. I know nothing about Mustangs, but I do know that pictures are always helpfull. If you can take pictures and post'em, that will really help people help answer your questions.
  11. What white did you use for the white portion of the body? It look's nice! Did you use the same color fot the interior, or a flatter color or what?
  12. Undersides taken care of! This is what really helps a model look complete is when the belly and bottom of skirts are finished!
  13. Are you serious? Cut peice you want off the sheet, dip in water for a few seconds till it slides off easily, stick on desired spot, let dry!
  14. It might help if you had a sample picture of the result your trying to get.
  15. Two thing's, we're not sure EXACTLY what red Ferrari used on the 88 Testarossa, AND! We're not sure EXACTLY what red Koenig used when they modified the Testrossa. But this Tamiya Italian Red seems to do the job quite nicely! I removed the body from the chassis to paint the underside of it. Need to complete the lower skirts and the inside of the side air-intakes. Also need to paint the underside of the rear wing as well, so it's flipped over. Just waiting for the right temperature or oportunity to paint! Then, I'll let the underside dry for a day or two, and start on the trim work.
  16. That's an awesome Volkswagen, are you going to make the body kit as well? Wouldn't be right without the kit on there as well as the paint scheme. You might want to try and cutting out the masking tape into the shapes you want before sticking theme onto the model? It maybe more time consuming, but end result might be better than trying to cut the tape directly on the model itselfe. Or, you might want to try liquid masking tape, and "paint" the masking where you want. I'd try the liquid tape on a junk body first though!
  17. Thank's, it's still a long way to go with the trimming and gluing on the windows and lenses and other bit's. Actually, your not far off on the color, Italian Red does have a bit of orange in it under certain light. If you were looking at the real model up close and personal, it's definetly more red. Sometimes the light from the camera or whatever can make it appear orange. I also need to paint the underside as well! Now imagine this identical finish, but in convertible version! That's the next project! However, I'll take some lesson's from this one, and make use of'em for the convertible!
  18. Here's a couple of teaser shot's for yea! I have to say, it look's pretty stunning despite the tiny imperfections in the paint due to dust. This look's awesome with the Ivory White interior! I decided to golden the wheels as they really pop against the bright red. Enjoy! Is it possible I've finally caught my unicorn?
  19. 20's? Wow, wonder what I can fit a set of 20's on? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  20. I still prefer the original, and I've always loved KARR in the third season's episode KITT vs' KARR. First season's episode where they introduced us to KARR was okay, but I prefered the more evil KARR in the third season. [i]"Ever seen someone explode in a vacuum? Noooooo, I have a better idea!"
  21. Nice model! The fact that it shows age makes it even more realistic for an 87. Only about a mile or so away from home there is a white 944 rusting away. Not sure what year it is, but would've been a cool project if I had the funds and skills. Converting it from a turbo-charged model to a none turbo-charged model, would that make it "hopped-down"?
  22. Any hopes, future hopes for a 2001-2006 Honda Insight? I'd love to build a kit of one. I'd like to FIND a kit of one!
  23. I have seen die-cast models of the new Mustang KITT, but not of KARR. In the tv show, the NEW "2008-9" KARR was more robot than car. So, I doubt the new KARR will be done. Personally, I'll stick with the 80's version.
  24. Interior accents redone. I painted flat-red over the flat-blue. These seat belts are hard to paint precisely! I think their molded too thick to. Also assembled the roll cage and painted it to match the body. Are you going to do the roll cage as well? Yea you, the other Koenig builder!
