  1. I thought you were going to outdo yourself again, and I was right.
  2. "Into the Wild" by LP (Laura Pergolizzi). You'll recognize the title track from an insurance commercial of a couple of years ago with a pretty rock climber ascending to the stop of a stone pinnacle, with lyrics saying "Somebody left the gate open." This woman has octaves, and the album is all winners. "Tokyo Sunrise" is a highlight.
  3. While the wall looks like a modeler's diorama, little things like the door lock button tell me it's real.
  4. Just curious, but how does a rare icon like the Bentley fit into a street scene with the others?
  5. Some are still available at Amazon for about $18 each. Not available currently as a set.
  6. My favorite was a six-episode series, "Victory by Design." It was the history of six great marques -- Alfa, Jaguar, Maserati, Aston, Ferrari, one I forget -- featuring host Alain de Cadenet putting existing survivors through their paces. You could really see and feel the driving experience.
  7. My intent was to use it for the external brake assembly on the 1/14 Bugatti T59, but it's really too big. Should work for a 1/12 drive chain. There's not a lot to snap together since it comes with the links mostly assembled.
  8. As I recall, it took a week or two to receive mine.

The Bond Bentley, a convertible coupe, would look more like a battleship gray version of one of these, closer to the one on the bottom. Note that there is a cover over its forward-mounted supercharger.

Actually, no. It was a sport coupe/roadster with a fixed canvas top in the Fleming book. This kit is a Birkin Team Le Mans Bentley like the one owned by Ralph Lauren, and represented in the 1/12 kit.
  11. I had an MRI a few years ago, and it was one of the most excruciating experiences I've been through. Last week, my doctor wanted me to have an MRI; I declined.
  12. I don't know if you have an Earth Fare or Sunrise Market, but those are the last two places around here that have Indian sauces and seasonings.
  13. Nailed it. And you did a great job on the safety wires. Worth all your effort!
  14. I also wish 300SL kits had 2-piece hubcaps for easier painting, but the 1:1 versions were stamped out in 1 piece. Mercedes had a masking tool that looked like a branding iron to paint them. Aftermarket metal press-on ring stars are available in all scales. As for the roadster, Italeri's 1:24 (Testors Italeri) and 1:16 kits are outstanding, except for an inaccurate windshield frame and no up top (Franklin Mint nailed it). However, in the real world, the roadster has a wider grille and more bulbous fenders than the Gullwing, so the body has to be different; Italeri overlooked this on their Gullwings and used some roadster molds, making the Gullwings obviously inaccurate. Italeri also has some minor inaccuracies in the Gullwing's engine bay, such as 2 coils on the Gullwing firewall instead of one.

Wonderful job on a great kit. Any engine shots?

    Great job. Nice, cleanly detailed.
  17. Regarding Tamiya's Gullwing heat shield: I have most of the Gullwing kits out there, in all scales -- Italeri, Minicraft/Entex, AMT, etc. All of these either mold it like Tamiya has, or omit it entirely. Oddly, the only kit that has it as a separate part is the lamentable 1/12 kit by Renwal and Revell/Monogram. I don't see a problem with just scoring more separation on the edges of the heat shield. In addition, it can be seen on more original cars that the heat shield is a bit shinier than the dull manifold, which should not be polished (Bill's photo looks a bit over-restored), so there's another way to differentiate the parts.
  18. Spectacular job, amazing detail.
  19. And nobody makes it like Katz. Or maybe Stage Door.
  20. You might look at Grandt Line model railroad chain made of delrin. It's a bit large for the bicycle size chain I need for my 1/14 Bugatti brakes, but could work for a 1/12 drive chain.
  21. The awesomeness continues.
  22. This could be your best ever.
  23. Slick. Nice work on a teeny kit.
  24. You're right, this doesn't belong here. It should be in the Model Trucks section, under On the Workbench: Pickups (etc)...
