  1. Gaaahhhh...perfect. Double-frying seems to be the secret, also recommended for Canadian poutines.
  2. Love it. Superb craftsmanship.
  3. Earlier this year, Consumer Reports rated the Fiat 500L the least reliable subcompact car sold in America.
  4. I spent a summer in Brussels many years ago, and often got frites from doorway stands, with a splash of vinegar and sometimes tartar sauce. Can't duplicate it.
  5. Great work, great shots.
  6. Surely you saw that in the news a year or two ago. EDIT: Okay, since this really can't be construed as being political, the following have been chastised in the New York press for eating pizza with a knife and fork: DeBlasio, Trump, Kasich. Restrain your comments. For me, I'll use tableware for a really deep-dish Chicago-style pizza (sorry, Harry). In any case, I'll typically order a basic pizza from one of the usual suspects and do the toppings myself.
  7. Stunning paint, great job. Any interior shots?
  8. No it just means that hers was left off the list. "The book is hers," not her's.
  9. Grrr. I looked at all the Italian designers, plus Scaglione, and it didn't show up.
  10. Cincinnati chili like Skyline is pretty good and is unlike any other chili because of the spices, such as a touch of cloves and cinnamon. Vietti isn't bad. For canned Texas chili, the real deal is Wolf Brand, and the best Southwestern chili is what I make. For any canned or frozen chili, it helps to brown some fresh stew beef and add it to the pot (ground beef alone doesn't cut it).
  11. Doesn't show up on any of my searches. I give up.
  12. Even if you don't intend to build it, (a) it's not very rare and isn't an investment -- and if you want to sell it, you need to vouch for the box contents, and (b) if you want to build it, don't you want to know what's in there? Personally, I'll never buy an older sealed kit.
  13. Tamiya's 1/24 Morgan 4/4 -- beautiful, finely detailed kit with wire wheels that you can actually see light through.
  14. The most common color I used to see was a medium-light metallic green, a metallic version of the terra verde shown above.
  15. I'd go with the Rolls, which seems more likely for a Deusenberg. That Bugatti roof is distinctively Bugatti.
  16. I think it's amazing how long those primitive friction shocks were used. Same design on my 1937 Jaguar SS 100 kit.
  17. Your photo of the window decal is nice and sharp, but it looks like it's shot at an angle; If you can get a straight-on shot of the decal with no perspective (shoot from a slightly higher angle), you can print it out to scale on white decal paper.
  18. This was discussed this morning on Hoda & Kathie Lee, where they looked at substitute products. Most of them weren't chrome-like at all, but they showed Jamberry Nail Wraps, which looks like strips of BMF. Has to be cut to shape; $15/sheet.
  19. This must all seem like small change to a Pocher builder ? As for kits, I've spent $125 for the 1/12 Revell re-box of Renwal's Ferrari 275 GTB (BAD move -- the kit is totally inaccurate junk), but I've spent multiples of that for research books and manuals.
  20. Superb. Looks like the perfect rosso corsa color, but the lighting is a bit dark. Great job on a lightly detailed kit.
  21. Except there's nothing like an authentic New England lobster roll, close to what Ace describes. Even McDonald's has them.
  22. There's a guy around here who has a 1:1, and this looks dead-on.
