  1. Wires look good. But, like Harry, I'm bothered by the size and shape of the black paint running around what would be the windscreen hump on the cowling (I have no idea what it's called...perhaps a fairing?). The only black thing I've seen around there is a leather flap under the windscreen frame.
  2. You could start with Lindberg's Chrysler Atlantic concept car.
  3. Wow. Where modeling becomes art.
  4. Use clear yellow over the kit chrome.
  5. In reviewing my files, it seems there is a very wide variety of ways to thread safety wire, so there's not much I can add.
  6. Thank you. I now see that and deleted my comment above. It's not easy getting old.
  7. [My comment deleted due to a senior brain fart]
  8. Yes, bit by unrelated bit, all of which is valuable. I merely suggest this because it has so much basic information combined in an easy-to- use, single document.
  9. Well, Ace, you stole my heart with the Alfa Giulietta Spider Veloce -- my first car, so much rewarding fun to drive, and a hot, unreliable mess. I want mine back.
  10. At 1/24-25 scale, you're not going to find much detail. Naturally, Rolls kits will have their version, and the Lindbergh Auburn Speedster has one.
  11. Perhaps that link should be pinned since MCM doesn't have an organized general FAQ forum.
  12. I just stumbled across Revell's FAQ section, and I was impressed by how complete it is. When new modelers ask how to start, I'd just send them there.... revell.com > parts > FAQ
  13. I ask because my diecast 1/18 Bburago T59 kit also has a strange, serrated hood hinge that I've never seen on a 1/1. I have a perfect piano hinge from a 1/16 Mercedes SS parts kit, but I've got to figure out how to grind and fill the metal to use it.
  14. I'm a bit confused about the nature of the top hood hinge. Looks like it's missing one side of a piano hinge assembly.
  15. PS ... Part of the confusion about Future over the years has come from referring to it as "wax." It isn't a wax, it's an acrylic coating, and shouldn't be confused with waxes.
  16. And what makes you think you can win?
  17. I have bunches of collector's items related to kits I thought I'd build. MERCEDES 300 SL: Original parts, owner and shop manuals, including cases, plus factory brochures and flyers; original hubcaps, badges, grille star and barrel, and scripts. Similar materials for Jag E-Type. Repro and original factory brochures and manuals for Mercedes SS/SSK, Rolls Phantom II and Phantom III. All of which exceeds by many times my investments in the related kits. Of course, there are many research reference books and videos involved.
  18. What brand and version of computer are you using, and what browser and version? My Mac has seen many times when browsers are updated beyond their capacity to support my computer. Experiment with a variety of browsers.
  19. Yes, they do, and with tires (in some cases optional). He is very meticulous about providing dimensions in mm.
  20. Superb, spectacular, etc. I only know Pinto for his terrific wire wheels, available in different sizes on eBay. Did he fabricate the rest of the kit parts?
  21. I searched for "Red streamlined cars made on Tatooine."
  22. The front seats look good to me, but the darker back seat color would be better on the front. However, in your body color scheme, the front seats could be leather in a similar green tone or complementary brown, and the back seats would be fawn cloth, with gray-tinged fawn carpet. Restored cars might have leather in the back seat. The carpets look too dark gray to me, but I think you're doing fine. http://s827.photobucket.com/user/sjordan47/library/ROLLS PHANTOM II?sort=3&page=1
