  1. I have mentioned this many times, but as long as we're here again -- Revell's re-boxing of Renwal's 1/12 Ferrari 275 GTB. I would show pictures, but you can't unsee them.
  2. Nice work, great interior detail.
  3. The example I'm showing is 1/16.
  4. I never buy a "sealed kit" on eBay (many of which have been resealed by the seller). I always ask the seller to open the kit to inspect the contents. If they won't, I don't bid.
  5. Super rare, and always over $100 USD.
  6. Here are some other pictures of the Queen's car. Evidently, it was a semi-landaulet, with the rear portion of the roof being completely glass. http://www.funfundoo.com/rolls-royce-phantom.html
  7. 1/16 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III -- Anmark, Revell, Entex, Gunze Sangyo There's also a 1/16 Jaguar XJ-S coupe out there -- Entex, Bandai (Bandai is motorized)
  8. Don't forget the 1/8 James Bond Aston Martin by GE Fabbri -- that's the one that mails the parts in installments. Did anyone mention the RoG London Bus? Bburago has also offered kit versions of some of their prebuilt diecasts: 1/18 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible ISF 1/18 1961 Jaguar E-type 1/24 Land Rover Defender 110 1/24 1951 Jaguar XK120 1/24 2001 Mini Cooper 1/24 Jaguar XF
  9. Not my cup of tea, but an extremely nice piece of work, inside and out. Maybe a slight wash on the wheels?
  10. This is a superb build journal that will be an important reference for my 1/16 Phantom II Continental. Just don't ever move any of the photos!
  11. I had a mid-50s large-scale Ford Anglia kit, but I've never been able to track another one. It was at least 1/12, as I remember.
  12. I prefer to watch foreign films in their original languages with English subtitles, to hear the original actors' performances. That's quite a slog with the 7-hour Russian version of "War and Peace." It can be a hoot, though, when someone rattles off a bunch of dialogue and the subtitle says something like "No." Fellini movies are different because he always used multinational casts and dubbed everything anyway.
  13. This looks a lot closer -- Queen Elizabeth's ride. (Actually a Phantom VI) A little helpful reference here: http://www.rrab.com/jan02.htm
  14. It's hard to tell from the one side view pictured above about the rest of the body, but it's possible that a bit of work to make the rear of the roof slope down more would help. Most Silver Cloud long-wheelbase limos had coachwork by Mulliner or James Young, but there have been many custom variations, particularly for cars for heads of state, which the model appears to be. http://car-pictures.info/1961-rolls-royce-phantom-v-touring-limousine-by-h-j-mulliner-five-seat-limousine/ http://car-pictures.info/1969-rolls-royce-phantom-vi-limousine-by-mulliner-park-ward-seven-seat-limousine/ If it's 1/24 as stated, I'd still check out the Minicraft Silver Cloud for parts or reference.
  15. The thing to remember about RC Lexan bodies is that the bodies are are clear and sprayed from the inside, not the outside like other kits. There is no relationship for painting.
  16. This post would not have been necessary if one of the moderators had not removed such a frequently asked question from its pinned position in Tips and Tutorials. This keeps showing up time after time after time after time. But as someone once said, nobody looks at those things. That thread had years of experience from member builders just like you see here and it's all gone now.
  17. In fact there are several. Harry found the best price, and it doesn't sell cheaper. Go for it. Never pay as much as $20 for it, and be sure to check shipping costs. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=1%2F16&_sop=10&_armrs=1&_from=R10&_pcats=1188%2C220&_osacat=2580&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X1%2F16+stutz&_nkw=1%2F16+stutz&_sacat=2580
  18. Great job. A few more pictures including tighter interior shots would be welcome.
  19. On one modeling forum, the name was automatically censored and replaced with asterisks for a while.
  20. The body may be okay to build as a limousine, but obviously the tires are way too small. No postwar Roll-Royce ever came with wire wheels. What scale is this? You might be able to use some interior parts from the 1/24 Minicraft Silver Cloud, but it's not very good at all. I would also suggest that for a good interior to bash and wheels, the best choice would be the Testors/Italeri Roll-Royce Phantom II Star of India. There are no good choices for a Silver Cloud engine, unless you're ready to deal with the Revell parts pak 1949 Cadillac, which Rolls stole from them..
  21. When somebody brings up a unique subject, they should take the responsibility to illustrate what they're talking about. Members should not be required to go to Google for this sort of information. Members aren't lazy, the OP is.
  22. Sorry for the lack of detail. I must have been watching FoxNews.
  23. I have movies that I think are the greatest ever made, but they can be so intense or complicated that it takes me a long time to see them again. That would include: Lawrence of Arabia Schindler's List The Searchers Paths of Glory and many more. But there are movies that that are so fascinating to watch, for reasons that only a psychiatrist could explain, that I see them at least once or twice a year... Grand Prix The Magnificent Seven Tombstone The Vikings The Third Man Casablanca The Great Escape The Guns of Navarone El Cid etc. How about you?
  24. Compared to Alclad and not the Asian powder (Kosutte Ginsan), I have seen equally good results with spray-can SpazStixx. Admittedly, I have not used any of these.
