I thought I answered it well.....directing him to one of the best custom printers AND offering personal help too. Just because we talked a little racing is OK with him I bet.

PRETTY work!!! inspire me any ways!

Call me bias if you want.......... But the AMC pony car is the last hold out for a modern kit. ALL other ponies have a modern kit....many in 1/24 and 1/.25. I did a little R&D for a proposed AMC pony car but it was cancelled before it got very far. A new tool Javelin could be tooled to include all models 68 to 74. WB is the same for all, same windshield/A pillars, same door skins etc. So you could tool one year, get some sales, add inserts for another year until you cover them all. And much of the tooling could bee shared with the 2 seat AMX version later. If only I was in charge!!!! I'll supply the 1/1 for 2nd gen Javelin

Nice work!!! I just finished this kit too.....I think the kit is very under rated.....builds very well.

Death of the Hobby
Dave Van replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For one thing model trains are a MUCH older hobby than plastic models. Second it much more expensive hobby....older folks often have spending money. A new Lionel top end loco is now $3K and no one blinks! -
Death of the Hobby

Change......the only constant. Retailing has changed more than anyone ever expected. I recall when Charlotte had two stamp hobby shops......not sure there is one in the country in a brick and mortar setting. The hobby will be here after I'm gone.....so not a worry here. -
I needed a deep well, thin wall, six point socket to use on my American Daisy wheels. I went to Sears, Lowe's and NAPA....none had what I needed in stock....I could not order it....needed it now. Tractor Supply has tools....looked there...they had it, I bought it and it has worked dine now for many uses.....at times you have to use what is available....in this case been a good buy.

Yhose little fomula cars are cool. We had a friend in the late 70's, ran FV and built his own cars. They were not as slick as the factory cars but he ran well and had fun. As driver my world was limited to Solo 1 & II.....me around 1979 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.....still have the car!!! PS: had not thought about SARC in years!!!

THE BEST item I have gotten at HF is two folding chairs I use at car shows. They are NOT those butterfly type that just spread out....more like a director chair with a side table!!! Comfortable, stable and the table is handy. I paid $20 with a coupon. Well worth it. As far as tools I have almost 100% Craftsman but I am not as loyal as I once was. I do have a 6 foot long low roll around tool box that has worked very well. Just know what you are buying.

INFO WANTED; NHRA museum model contest November 3rd, 2019
Dave Van replied to the goon's topic in Contests and Shows
My So Cal buddy is going....so still on. Maybe check the museum site??? BTW I grew up in Whittier.....Mulberry elementary......I still visit once a year. -
Bugeye!!!! What region and years did you run??? We ran SE region late 70's up into late 90's. From SSC to GT-1. Indycals does custom printing and his decals are very nice. What decals do you need?? just the stripe and roundels/numbers?? I may be able to help with art.....but can't print white....so Indycals would need to print them. LMK photo at Roebling Road??

I used some years ago and it was not up to Tamiiya standards.......gun shy here too.

Well.......I just ordered a Taxi kit. $45 delivered. How I will build it yet to be seen!!!! This is a Revell Renault based stake bed....Hmmmm.....
-
Side note: Indycals just released a MOMO set of decals for this kit. Very nice!
-
Something else.......the Revell Renault showrods are really 1/32 scale....body wise. If you have a Pyro 1/32 Renault kit the 'hood' in it is almost the EXACT same size as the Revell. So I'm not sure how big the ICM 1/24 kit will be.
