  1. Thank you. For digging up the info.....and confirming what I thought about the 'deal'. When I was still at the bank and did 'due diligence' on commercial investment loans $50K was what we called 'lunch money' something we'd overlook. $3.9M is almost nothing in commercial corporation money.
  2. Don't you think it was cheap??? Thanks for digging up info... The retired bank analyst in me says bargain!!!
  3. THAT was REALLY cheap....without due diligence information.....seems like no body wanted Revell.....if the end price is the $3.9M....WOW
  4. I pay yearly for my website domain, most do today, so it may float out there for a while. This whole thing had little to do with the day to day operators of Revell USA. They were doing their job....it all fell apart due to factors out of their control. And operating in China is no easy task. It's kinda become a 'tar baby'....it was easy to get into but almost impossible to get out. I was offered a job in the hobby biz once bet required travel to China 3-4 times a year. EVERYONE told me not to do it. It was a no win job.
  5. I was actually referring to Cerberus Capital Management era........I didn't even think I needed to sepcicfy...my error. MB was at best only fair in it's running of Chrysler, Fiat not much better......showing how companies, all 3 above, do not know how to run a company and make it successful here. Watch....the Fiat and Alfa brands will be gone again in a few years from the USA. I agree....I felt Revell was a deal at $10M. The bank analyst in me would have given the thumbs up if 'Due Diligence' came out as the courts stated. But a small company like Revell that is a niche manufacture and with other ways to make big money faster here....no one bit. From a personal side after working with Revell since 1985 I doubt I will ever get to again. Only thing sadder is all the friends that found out they didn't have jobs at lunch on Friday the 13th. Final note. Being raised and surrounded by people that served in WWII in Europe for the duration and longer (why my wife is a French citizen) I have a good personal 2nd hand accounting on the past history of Europe. That was many years ago....things change...but let's not wash away the past as is the fashion for many. thx
  6. Like what happened to Chrysler.......... I lost a model buddy of 36 years Monday.....now we loose Revell a 'buddy' for more than 50 years. Glad I have so many kits in the stash.
  7. Nice work!!! I did the art for those decals and a buddy did the ART on the box.
  8. Worried here ......the unknown......
  9. Very cool.....
  10. Maroon would make sense as a very popular color in 40.
  11. 4/10 is done....any news???
  12. I'd bet they cloned it......I don't have them....but common.
  13. Middle of nowhere........but not far from Snow Shoe WV.....should have known!!!
  14. Have to admit I have a bunch too......
  15. Cool gasser!!! I find Lego a nice break once in a while.
  16. Eight inches of snow when I woke....still snowing hard.....Spring???
  17. I'll race you!!! My 'Elvis' rod from Mad Max Fury road. I did a who;e series of MM Lego models.
  18. Thanks for echoing what I said in my post.
  19. For the price it should be better agreed. But I can fix the body line, if I wanted, for about 10 cents worth of brass wire and a small amount of putty. No...I should not have to.....but it does not bother me as the Petty photo shows....REALLY hard to see on SOME cars. The rear leaf springs are going to cost me about $5 for a old AMT 'Bird kit and some work at the bench. That is much more an issue to me. Still I'll hold judgement until in my hands.
  20. Art's right. I got a used 180 cfm fan from a industrial printer. Toner can be highly flammable and as such a good fan to use. Going on 25 years of use now. Making sure a used fan is suitable can be a trick so deal with someone you trust.
  21. Maybe someone's 'tribute' car built from junk parts......that's being done unfortunately....but in this day and age getting correct vintage info is as easy as falling off a chair. I am not dumping on these guys yet....I'll see what's in the box....and if they fix it as thy say.....a good step. BUT as I've consulted on MANY race car kits for free.....and would have done the same here....wish they had asked before cutting metal.
  22. ALL MPC stock car Cup kits had leaf spring rears. Even when they retooled them for the 1983 Monte Carlo, Regal and GP they left leaf springs in......LONG gone from Cup by them for any make. I agree it's not a good thing for a new tool to get it wrong......if it was a Petty Dodge Magnum....thumbs up!!
  23. Change is the only constant........but I hate change!!!!
