  1. Very cool project. Good luck...
  2. Pic N Save......I could always get Mom to buy me a kit there!!! This was the 1960's and the kits were 99 cents.....but great memories of that store. We lived in Whittier......
  3. Agreed....it's a big boy's game. Deep pockets were needed even if in the end it went cheap. I know one large kit distributor that said if it was just the total cost in the end (not all the lawyers, court cost etc etc) he could have bid. We'll have to see....
  4. It is done more often than thought. Companies buy other companies to raid their liquid assets, sell off hard assets and assume bought companies market or even sell off customer DB. Saw it happen during my banking years due diligence reporting....I think it's a sleazy biz practice....but done. For what was paid for Revell...it could have been a plan a bank could back.
  5. If you Google Revell USA you get the Revell USA website link....click on it and you get this....no matter what you refresh. As a retired IT Analyst......I may know this one... Thanks....
  6. If you click on the Revell USA link it's still dead. Seems to be a lot missing from the German site that was on the spreadsheet shown recently.
  7. I just checked, unscientifically, and found zero kits or parts in stock. Just randomly checked stuff....everyone out. Big order day!!!
  8. Found a very small amount of things I was wanting....but Thanks to Don & Carol for one more order!!
  9. Just finished this one with a few mods....Gofer decals
  10. Went to a Ollie's today. They had kits....left overs from the last load. Lindberg 1/12 Fiats, Revell pre-paint Mustang and Challenger, Patrick Cup Ford and the ships/planes. Picked a Patrick Ford since the Cup kits are missing from new spreadsheet.
  11. No kits in maybe 20 years or so.......I have a few kits with TRU price stickers......but those are mid 1990's era.
  12. That was Bob Johnson's idea. After he left Monogram he wanted to start a model company that would make kits just like the Cobra. It fail to generate enough interest to get off the ground although I did some R&D for him.
  13. I've wanted to build this trailer since I bought the IMC kit back in the 70's. I picked up the Lindberg reissue not long ago and decided to build the shorty. It is mostly box stock but I did add a back bumper of treadplate, sunken tail lights and one set of clearance lights rear. Sign boards are just .020 stock painted. Paint is every silver I had on hand. One color might make it a bit dull....so I used Testors silver, Tamiya silver leaf and gloss aluminum and some Dupli-color silver. Decals are Gofer Racing decals and are great!( I did work for Gofer at one time but I didn't do these and bought them retail ) Next I am going to build a 1955 Ford COE cab to pull it. Thanks!!!
  14. Many stalled projects....longest stalled and biggest is my 1990 Roush Racing IMSA Cougar. I spent lots of time and money, most chassis and engine built but not painted. After 3 false starts on a body back about mid 1990's it all went into a box never to see light again.....BTW it's in 1/12 scale....
  15. Monogram offered a Daytona coupe body and tire/wheel KIT in 1/32 scale to be used with their slot car chassis. A very nice kit that I had hoped would be made into a static kit someday.
  16. Not a downer....but you may be right. We have to hope we are a small enough group the site can handle it......as much as I love Modelhaus stuff...it ain't Amazon level of hits.
  17. Dis-closer: I have not talked directly to any of my Revell contacts but hear some are working with Revell's new owners in some capacity.
  18. Let's say the two would be related for sure. My brother in law was AMII art director and helped with kit design before he unexpectedly passed away while working for AMII. What could have been.......
  19. My So Cal buddy was there.....has a few projects working for this year.....(showrods)
  20. If Accurate Miniatures had made it longer than it did......we would have gotten a full range of Cobras.....they had done the design work for a number of high end die cast so info was in house.
  21. That's my fear....It's not on the spreadsheet and I am not sure New Revell will issue a 'humorous' WWII vehicle.....or any TD kits.....like Baja....(see the flak RoG got for their WWII German flying saucer kit)
  22. They used to have a saying 'nothing is for sure but death and taxes'.....some are skating on the tax thing so we are down to ONE sure thing. Those folks involved in the new Revell announcement are pretty trust worthy.....but you are correct....nothing is 100% for sure until it is in front of YOU.....but I am hopeful.
  23. Cool...I like!
