JR Salvino is showing that all it takes is time, money and desire to start our own model company....... AMT still has tooling in a vault......I can see their logic. Today is so far from the 1960's or even the 1980's. Remember MPC sold over 1 million Duke's Chargers. Any one million sellers in the last 20 years??? We are a micro group of hobbyist..

Is it based off the NASCAR kit??? Post a pic!! -
At a recent real car show talk turned to model cars. Of the five of us talking about the good old days (I was the only current builder) all of us had the 40 Ford.....kinda universal I think. And they all remembered it was AMT!

News of Revell molding preparing in US

And Revell's non-communication only fuels speculation.......SOP in todays connected world....we all expect more info all the time. -

Correct.....vintage tooling should be able to be shipped elsewhere....in theory.....but at this time it may be tough.....and you'd have to hope no 'accidents' happen in moving. A factory in China that made about 40% of all model trains sold in the USA closed last week. Now stateside companies that 'owned' the tooling there are having to go to China and 'save' their tooling which means lots of cash for officials, factory supervisors and guards....etc etc....still not easy in a Communist state. Just FYI not trying to be a downer.... -

Very difficult if the tooling was cut in China.....read up on Chinese partnership in everything made there.....it should scare you. -

A kit? I've never seen before ....

It's a Monogram 1980ish Camaro kit inside. Can'r say how many they made but a good friend of mine has one. It was a promo item for the 'Used Cars' movie......basically a custom box top. -

Current NASCAXR Cup kits are pretty much dead. With Revell owners now in Germany I see no more plastic kits. Just IMHO only. -
Revell's is wrong too then.........??????

FYI - Revell, former known as Revell of Germany, has reissued a 2010 Mustang kit. MSRP is $42.98.....so AMT list in the $30 range is not so high. This info from a wholesaler in Germany site. How many will they sell at $43 when local big box store has last 2010 Mustang issue at $14.88??? The light at the end of the tunnel may be a train.......

Change. I don’t like change...never have. But it’s time for some. Due to something I found out recently I feel it’s time to change things. I found that there are people on the net impersonating me, using my name and an avatar I created myself, to post negative and at times nasty things. There is not a good way to stop this so I have decided my time on the internet is done. This way if you see negative posts, credited to me, you will know it is not me doing so. This is not the only reason I am ending my participation on the net and it’s forums. Over the past year I have lost a large number of friends in the model hobby, car hobby and my model train hobby. It has made it very real to me our time here is limited. I feel sitting in front of my PC is not good use of my time left. This is not a ‘the internet is bad’ thing, although I do see more and more negative over positive of late. I am thankful for all the folks I have gotten to know. Those that continue to use the net…..watch your back! God bless all….

Thanks for your expert input on this. I said the same thing and was called a heretic. BTW thanks for your years at RM. The Caddy would have been cool. There were a number of cool kits cooking......I fear the same fate.
