National Lampoon's "Vacation" Wagon Queen Family Truckster
Dave Van replied to spencer1984's topic in Model Cars
VERY WELL DONE!!!! I love movie cars of all kinds and this one is top of my list! You really caught the look perfect. I'd love to get your Truckster and my Christmas Vacation wagon together!!!! -
Well done....reminds me of the Ghia bodied Chryslers......

I love how you look for a part for your 66 Mustang, using the 'FIT' search and you get Volvo fuel injectors. Right

Thankfully ebay 'improved' the model train listings to the point I gave up........which was a good thing.......saved me lots of cash

Thanks....during my years of unloading trailers there was always some kind of 'bumper'. Sheet stock and treadplate, drilled holes for light. THANKS -
Lindberg Big Rig Trailer

I like that oold trailer. I know it's kinda freelance but great as a older trailer. Yours looks good with that tractor!!!! I used that kit for a shorty version...... -
A buddy in high school had a 69 Fairlane base model (same body) I wanted that car and he was one of those guys that trade cars all the time. But he wrapped the Fairlane around a tree. Cool project, Modelhaus made a body like that.....I bought one to build Norm's car...yet to build.

NOT a ECP-BOOST fan. My son bought a new 2016 Mustang with the 4 cyl ECO motor. After 2 factory paid for engine replacements in one year he traded it for a Roush V-8 supercharged 2016 which he still has and has been perfect. When I bought my 2016 F-150 they wanted to sell me a ECO version.......I went for the 3.5 NA engine which again has been perfect. The ECO thing is much more a AD thing than proven tech.

WOW!! Nice work on conversion. Did you show how you did this??? I want a Big Lebowski version!!!

No telling what plastic the Chinese used. If it's not brittle or super soft I'd think it's OK. -

Any Chance Of The Monogram Capri II Coming Back?
Dave Van replied to oldcarfan's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Back right before the Revell Monogran collapse bankruptcy I suggested to Sexton that all these curbside kits be issued as 2 in 1 kits with the two version of each in a single box. They (RM) were interested and asked me to gather the kit numbers and any box art I had. Before I gathered all the info RM went under and that was the end of that. I wonder if Atlantis has the tooling. They may and just not have licensing for Mercury/Ford, Porsche, Ferrari, Leyland etc and not viable for one or two kits......Ferrari is to costly for sure. -
THIS IS COOL!!!!!

Back when I bought from him each Toledo Fall meet he was a great guy. Even offered some 2nd's that were a good deal. But as someone that made resin kits at one time the biz that was your hobby can get difficult to keep going. So I will not come down to hard......but maybe it is time to just shut it down. Don Holthaus knew when it was time....many others too,,,,,,,,,,

3d printing is entering a new phase. Fast print speeds.
Dave Van replied to my66s55's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Like all new tech it gets better all the time. I was watching a 50's era film where they bragged about being able to send a mug shot photo from NYC to LA in only 2 hours with the new drum scanner!!! Imagine that only 2 hours to see a grainy b&w photo. -
I'd buy a few of that one. I have one but with so many options I can't commit to building just one!
-
Sooooooo.....decals and box art????
