Airfix Jeep Quicksand Quickbuild
Dave Van replied to PatW's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
VERY cool spin! I have most of those AIRFIX lego builds. -
My e-mail address is really old......from the start of Hotmail. So I get a ton of fakes. Pretty easy to spot.....just use common sense. Learn the basic's. Look at e-mail addresses, HOVER over hot links to see where it WOULD take you. All things anyone using e-mail needs to know. Kinda like back in the olden days when our parents made us memorize our phone number and address before we could go out alone. Same thing today.

Tamiya McLaren orange paint
Dave Van replied to Racersonly's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This JADA Mustang is painted in that Tamiya color.....works for me!!!! -
Not to stink up this project but the 86 vs 87 chassis are two completely different animals. If the goal is a custom 86 Bird no problem. I may be wrong but 83-86 Gird was Fox based while 87-88 Bird was a new IRS platform......is my brain getting mixed up? just a FYI

MK needs to do that one!!!! nice work -
Yep.....there was a internal oil line with a 90 degree bend.....no matter what you did the engine starved for oil after 100K......

I bought new a 1999 candy apple red Concorde. It was the most comfortable highway car I ever owned. Bad thing and why they are not seen much is they had a internal oiling issue and all of them failed even with by the book service. I built a model of it removing the areo stuff etc

I see why they picked this subject. For a 3D design it's as easy as any truck ever made. I just started 3D design for some model trains tuff and this truck is so simple the art needed to produce it is easier than say a Studie or Hudson P/U that might be more popular.

So nice to see that car built!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where Did All The Krylon Go?
Dave Van replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It may be the supply chain shortage that hit many spray can manufactures over the past 2 years. I know the Dupli-color I use was hard to find and when the supply came back it was more $$$$ than before. Check their website???? -
Nice work.......Roush's first win IIRC

Dave Van replied to Adam deCoste's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks.....we lived in So Cal all of the 1960's and I think Datsun was pretty much on West coast at the timr. I'd love to find one. It was a mini Ford Falcon......same type suspension, a mini 9" rear......it looked like Datsun just shrank one down!!! Keep us posted! -

COOL project!!!!!! My very first car was a Datsun PL411 4 door sedan. It was tough as heck car!!!!! Ugly as sin...... My son builds Toyota Camry and others at the Toyota Lexington KY factory.....they so good work! not mine but exact same -
Just like 'SPAM' phone calls .....e-mail senders are 'spoofing' their addresses and thus hard to block when they change address daily. In the mornings I just select all junk, hit delete and live with it.

The last issue of the RM 59 Caddy almost ALL the kits had crushed A pillars. RM made it good......but it should not have happened......agreed.

At Walmart (at least one store)
Dave Van replied to Classicgas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So far it seems WM ships them to stores in area WITH hobby shop (or HL) but not to areas without hobby stores. My local WM is 2 hours from any hobby kit retailer but NEVER gets kits. Yet in Lexington KY, with a number of hobby retailers, gets multiple shippers of kits?!?!?!?!?!?!? -

Dave Van replied to Classicgas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Was at a WM in KY and they had the isle display AND half a isle full of kits. Nothing I needed at their price so I passed on buying.
