  1. There is a detailed post about the AM Taurus kit. Long story short the kit was designed by Bob Johnson who did the majority of Monogram NASCAR kits. The kit was never produced and sold in any numbers. My brother in law worked at AM, as did I part time. When they closed I was given a large tub of Taurus kits. IMHO only I doubt the tooling is still around. The tooling was shopped to a number of companies and there was no interest. https://public.fotki.com/DaveVan51/accurate-miniatures/
  2. Hit two Ollie's Friday while traveling. Beckley WV: ZERO new, Wacky Racers and missle kits. Lewisburg WV: The Atlantis run, AMT Miller trailer, Mixer truck and CAL race team all at $25. Picked up the race team.
  3. I'll get a drag team if I find one.
  4. Looking good!!! Is that a young Chessie???
  5. Mine is no were as pretty but bought it back 1994....Pretty decent cars considering AMC had no money. Mine feels much more modern than it\s age.
  6. That came out really nice!!!! WELL DONE
  7. I picked up a mint kit last Fall at the Ohio model show. I'll be watching!
  8. I'll get the Mustang for sure!
  9. Thanks....I can get local....Out of pocket....the reason I do it by mail is it's my insurance supplier and free....
  10. I have a new USPS horror story.....anew LOW!!!!! I order my refill on Meds, they ship from Cinncy 300 miles door to door. JAN 12 2025 A few days later package is in Charleston WV. GOOD I get it next day if things go right. Well.....it sits therefor a few days...OK Claim weather delay but my daughter lives near postal sort center and she is getting around fine in her mini van!?!??! Then the package goes on vacation. Next it's in Indy, sits for a few days. OK Next up some skiing in Denver CO. Sits a few more days. Package REALLY liked Indy so a few days there again....... NO ETA and I have one day of meds left. I hate the USPS................
  11. The NASCAR Cup rule at the time was the race car had to have the same TYPE of suspension at each corner. IE the factory car had leaf rear race car must have leaf. Factory car had rear coils, race car must have coils. But the GM truck arms were used on cars like 76 Ford Torino too as it had coils rear. The Dodges of the era had to run torsion bar front even though it was altered from production. This was the start of the full race car chassis that had nothing to do with the production car.. thx
  12. I have 3 packages sitting at the regional sorting center since LAST Sunday. With my inside connections I now have I had them checked on. Because we have had snow the sort center does the very least and slaps a 'Weather Delay' on what they do not process. If I did that in my job I'd been gone......
  13. Good start!!! I was one of the folks that worked on those MPC reissues by Model King. I have a Fotki that has a few tips on these kits..... https://public.fotki.com/DaveVan51/model-king-stocker-/ These are box stock builds to show what can be done. I did add a few roll bars with tube stock, nothing major.
  14. Things are changing for sure. There is a new video on YT about Tichy Train Group, maker of plastic model train parts. Owner is also the tool maker. He uses aluminum blocks to cut tools and they are a few hundred each. And if he sits down and works at it a new tool takes him a few days. Most of his tools are two part simple tools with no slide action etc.....but shows what can be done today. The factory tour is interesting if you like that stuff. Thanks
  15. I get it. I love all those 1/24 kits Monogram did in early 60's. A 6 in 1 kit!! What's not to love!!!! My dream is somehow someone clones these kits!!!

  17. I like the kit. A very different pick for AMT at the time. My build with a model of my real Concorde I had. Thanks
  18. Nice work!! 1/87 is a great scale for trucks. I built a Ulrich metal kit when I was a kid....wish they were still around.
  19. I have them all....not a Chevy guy so never built one.....go together well.......???
  20. My Ollie's got the Atlantis Spl issue 4 kits. The 1/48 gas tanker, Native American, Space shuttle and ship. I picked up the space ship. Thx
  21. You did the right thing........ FaceSpace does so much stuff underhand and profit of your data it's unreal. Look at the huge profits. Never been on never will
  22. Maybe someday down the road. Right now they have yet to make a dent in the tooling on hand and the cost to repair that.
