  1. All of the kids' efforts have paid off with great looking models. Applying decals is a lot trickier than it looks. Great efforts all around.
  2. Robin, the P-51 and F-16 look great. Congratulations to the builders for a job well done. My challenge is getting the numbers required for my whole class. If Revell adds the 2015 Mustang to the Make N Take program, my problem is solved.
  3. "thats cool thay all did a great job love the parking lot" Thanks Thomas "This really is one of the better ideas of class-time use I've seen in sometime. It teaches patience, directions, pride in your work, craftsmanship and the importance of doing a job right." I totally agree Charlie. May have to change to something simpler next year as I changing from Grade 5 to Grade3. Hmm ... possibly 2015 Mustang snap kit?
  4. "Way cool!" Thanks Dale. "Great fun building with kiddos, I've done it myself." Yes Robin, it was great fun. Thanks for for the comment. "Very clean work on all of the kits!" Eric, the kids will appreciate the compliment. Thanks for posting. "What a fantastic idea!" Steve, my class sure thought it was a fantastic idea. After I brought the kits into the class, they could hardly wait to get started. "FANTASTIC!" Thanks G "I say they all did a great job!" Again, thanks for the compliment Dave. The kids had never used an airbrush before, let alone a double action. I showed them how I used it, and they adapted to what was comfortable and worked for them. They took to it like a duck to water. Even I was more than pleasantly surprised when I saw the results they were achieving.
  5. Charlie, I am very fortunate that both my Pricipal and the students' parents were very supportive of the idea. The school's parent council generously funded 2/3 of the cost, while I covered the other 1/3. I am a strong believer in hands-on learning, creating, and the pride that it builds.
  6. And finally concluded … And, the ‘Parking Lot’ shot …
  7. And here are a few more ...
  8. Thanks Jeff.
  9. The story continues … And now, a few of the finished models.
  10. The school year has been over for about a week now, so I thought that I had better post the pictures of my Grade 5 class’ model cars. It was the most ambitious effort to date, in terms of painting and assembly. Again this year, we left a few parts off, as they would have been too fiddly and frustrating to assemble. All in all, I think they did a great job and I am very proud of all of them. I think that they are quite proud as well. I will let the pictures tell the story. This year’s project: The process: The photo story continues ...
  11. I would sincerely appreciate it Rob, if you decided to go ahead.
  12. If you follow David's link, you will understand.
  13. All the best to you Bob. May you and the Billet Gods always hang out together!
  14. Welcome back to it Phil. Lots of choices in kits. Which one are you thinking of starting with?
  15. Looks fantastic Gary. Do you have any shots of the interior?
  16. Inspirational piece of model building to say the least. What a great two tone combination.
  17. I have often had this kit in my hand at a lhs, but have put it back on the shelf. The excellent quality of your build has convinced me to buy the kit the next time I see it.
  18. The interior is so amazing that it looks ready to hop into and take a drive. I really like the look of the single bar across the back as an anchor for the seat belts, instead of a full roll cage.
  19. Mitchell, everything that I have seen you post is an "A-plus offering". I'm sure this will be of the same quality.
  20. Andre, I should have taken advantage of the outdoor painting weather as well. Another Porsche off to a great start.
  21. Great added detail work. I have this kit as well, so I am happily following your progress.
  22. Definitely go for it Charlie.
  23. 32 of the Revell Ferrari 458 Italia kit. Didn't actually take delivery, but paid for them. They are supposed to arrive next weekend, however, I will be in heaven at the Wayne PAL. Can't wait to be on the road this coming Friday. This will be the kit that I will do with my grade 5 class, starting near the end of May / beginning of June. Last year's '32 Ford 3-window coupe was a huge success!
  24. Well said Howard. It is all about the enjoyment, in what ever form that takes. Scale? They are all good ... 1/12, 1/20, 1/24, 1/25 for cars, and 1/32, 1/48, 1/72 for aircraft. Earnings figure might just be a wee bit inflated.
