Very creative concept and design which has been beautifully executed for both the car and boat

Group 29 - the thread for everyone's '29 Ford Roadster builds
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in Model Cars
I cut the valence from the fender assembly to give the look of fenders and running boards being temporarily removed -
Very nicely built AV8 replica hiboy hot rod. You should add a photo to the Group 29 thread below. Another reminder that this kit just has to come back and the 32 Sedan for that matter.

Group 29 - the thread for everyone's '29 Ford Roadster builds

Great to see the revival of this thread. Good to see all the additional 29's whether Revell or AMT. Come to think of it, I have a non " newest" Revell '29 to post. This my attempt at building a Race of Gentlemen style car. It is actually part Revell and part AMT although not the "newer" Revell Roadster. The body behind the doors is AMt but the rest is from the Revell '29 Pickup kit which gives the opening doors and articulated hood. -
Like it? I love it!! Fantastic restyling and construction of a less than great kit.

You have checked all the right boxes for building a tough looking Deuce which this definitely is.

Looks like a beautiful kit. I built a model of this car a few years ago in 1/25 scale using Academy body converted back to 289. Looking forward to seeing more.

Deuce Days was always an every three year event and 2016 was supposed to be the last one but the organizer was talked into doing it again 2019 this time with city and provincial help. If all goes well it might even happen again in 2022!! There is a caravan of hot rods that come from LA so some of the same cars will be at both the LA Roadster Show and Deuce Days. Maybe I can send you a poster for your event next year. It was sure cool seeing Gene Winfield checking things out. That guy continues to live such an incredible life.

Gorgeous rendition done perfectly

I like this a lot. These Sevilles may never be a valuable collector car but they are historically significant.

Cool car. Cool story. Very cool model. Nicely done.

Hi Art - Finally got around to checking this out. Definitely an amazing model show. Congratulations. Your show keeps getting bigger and better. I have started working towards the second Deuce Days in Scale taking place July 2019. I hoping for more spectators next year.

Outstanding model - I do not often look at Drag Racing Models but three things caught my eye - '32 Ford, the starting date and the number of posts. I knew it was going to be something special and it definitely is.

WOW!! Totally awesome.

32 ford twins conversions, not identical, DONE

I am glad you posted Under Glass and I got a chance to see these two very impressive Deuces before they may get moved as I hardly ever look at the Big Boyz or truck threads. I am even more impressed with the builds after looking at your under construction posts. I am currently working on both closed and open cab '32 Ford pickups in 1/25 scale so these are inspirational. -
Love your '40 Ford Sportsman - it's a beauty and the open vent is definitely a nice touch

Front and back views. Digital photos are certainly reviling!! I am going to have to redo the tailgate curtain.

Always good to see a nicely built Deuce and yours illustrates that a great looking hot rod model can be built directly out of the box. I sure hope this kit and all the other Deuce versions will be available for years to come.

Thanks everyone and I hope I did not miss anyone. I am really enjoying this all 15 varieties of 32 Fords project and most of my local car modeller buddies are involved either building other versions or volunteering previous builds for the display.

As requested

Thanks Patrick - As mentioned the body is from the Revell 1/24 30 Ford Woody Street Rod kit

All 15 Varieties of 1932 Ford - Sedan Delivery - June 30
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The body is from the soon to be re-released MPC Coke version. I cut out the fender liners on the body to see how it fits on Revell 32 Ford fenders. Some trimming will be required where body meets the fuel tank to get it to sit down on the fenders. The proportions look good to me but the rear door should have rounded corners at the top. -
I built this Deuce Woody to be part of an All Varieties of ’32 Fords at Deuce Days in Scale 2019. Officially known as the Station Wagon, there were 1406 produced in 1932. Birch plywood & maple framing first growth came from Ford’s Iron Mountain Reserve. The Mengel Body Company of Louisville Kentucky constructed sub-assemblies. Final assembly done by Baker-Raulang of Cleveland Ohio. The fuel tank was located under front passenger seat. Bodies were only available in shades of medium brown and all ’32 Fords had black fenders. The model combines the “wood” body from the Rev/Mon 1/24 ’30 Model A Woody with the “steel” parts from the Rev/Mon 1/24 Deuce Roadster. The panels on the “wood” body were cut out and backed with real birch plywood from Revell. The framework was first painted light yellow and then dry brushed light brown. All the “wood” was then coated with Tamiya acrylic yellow clear. Inside there are only two rows of seats where as stock station wagons came with three rows. The front seat was fabricated from the roadster seat. The Deuce dash comes from a Revell 1/25 kit. The Roadster also provided the wire-wheels and engine. Engine parts came from a 1/24 ’57 Corvette. I had to use the ‘30 Model A Woody rear fenders to match body radius. The suspension was lowered front and rear. Other than the windshield the only window coverings were side curtains constructed from fabric and celluloid with those for the side doors sliding in channels up to the inner roof. The model side curtains are simulated with adhesive tape and very thin clear styrene.

Fantastic looking C7R. Exceptional decal application. Appears SMS really knows how to produce great decals.

Enjoyed looking at your collection of models. Keep at it and looking forward to more.
