Great year of 10 fabulous builds. Each one is unique and I like them all. Looking forward to what you create in 2023. -

Great looking Trans-Am. I especially like your engine compartment. I have a 2nd Gen in my stash to build someday. -
Bellissimo!! Great color choice.

Andrew - Looks like you have a very a very good kit to base your Clark Lotus Cortina. If you had not claimed that entry I was going to base a build on parts I purchased from Gerry Chevalier the original Mini Exotic guy. I also bought his white metal Lotus/Ford DOHC engine and the required Italeri Escort kit for the rolling chassis. All together probably a $140CAN investment. I will build it eventually as the Lotus Cortina is on my list of all time favourites.

216 was in my mailbox today Dec 8 in Victoria BC Canada when I arrived home from being away a few days. Great to see a locally built model on the cover !!

Phildaupho has opened the box and glued together the engine block so has claimed the Corvette Penske Grandsport as his to build. I bought the kit as soon as it was released and soon after acquired the Model Car Garage detail set which then came with a resin transmission with linkage. It also came with a resin differential oil cooler but the car ran with two at Sebring so I am going to have to come up with another. I may have to rob an already built model !! I also have the HRM Nassau Hood and the A-frame kit. I have always liked building white cars as I have had very good success using Tamiya Pure White directly from the spray can. I am looking forward to eventually posing the Grandsport with my two other Chaparral cars - a 2D and a 70 1/2 Trans-Am Camaro.

1949 Ford Four-Door Custom - Under Glass - Dec 22/22
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks guys - The body is now in primer so final painting will soon begin. I attached the side trim before final painting as I predicted too many possibilities of disaster if doing it afterwards. Even at that I cut it in three sections at the door gaps. Plus the area inside the trim will be white so should make masking simpler. I also have the Cadillac V-12 ready to install. I am sure the original ignition wires were not green, but it was all I had on hand, and it should look good with the main green exterior colour. -

I mocked up the interior in a convertible body to see how it fits and looks. The seats and side panels are from the Revell '49 Mercury. The front seat now has a one piece back. Some extra rolls and pleats were added to the rear shelf. On the door panels I added some hardware and arm rest. The custom steering was made from two '49 units with a clear lens in the centre. I have attached some interior photos of the car as it looks now. In later years purple was added to the top of the dash and the rear seat got painted black. A Mexican blanket covers the well-worn front seat upholstery. -
amt '69 Buick Riviera - John D'Agostino's Pantheon

I agree totally with Misha's comments - "Great companion piece to the D’Agostino’s Olds! Always enjoyed his kustoms the best of all the builders. Congrats on your build," -
´68 Buick Riviera Custom - John D'Agostino's Pantheon

This is one delicious custom. Excellent work. John D'Agostino had so many beautiful customs built over the years. I wonder how many have been built as model cars. Same goes for Richard Zoochi's customs.
