  1. Thanks Dave - The hood being ajar was actually just happy coincidence on the model and yes it was to get additional cooling on the real car Thanks Steve - I just took this photo of the Camaro with the 2D I converted about 15 years ago to its final configuration from the Monogram Daytona version. I am surprised by how creamy the Testor's white enamel appears now compared to the Tamiya bright white on the Camaro. Jim Hall signed the bottom of the 2D at the Monterey Historics
  2. Finally finished and posted Under Glass
  3. DISCLAIMER- This was not built from the new full bumper kit and the real car ran with the front of the hood slightly ajar I have more photos I will post in the coming days Most of the modifications were documented in an On the Workbench thread Tamiya Bright White, Fred Cady Decals, Detail Master Hood Pins
  4. I always like seeing a classic especially a boat tail. Thanks for posting
  5. You sure captured the classic mild custom look. It has been longtime since I last saw a '58 Ford model.
  6. Very handsome GT40.
  7. Looks good. I have always liked the white one the most. Congratulations on completing this. I bet you are one of a very small percentage who has.
  8. Absolutely wonderful news. Congratulations and thank you to all involved with the relaunch.
  9. Impressive to see your use of the latest technologies to build a classic.
  10. I sure like the look of those Thickstun head covers. This is the first time I have seen them used on a model. I have been saving a set for the right application. I heard the real ones were developed for use in boats to prevent water fouling the plugs.
  11. I agree with Misha. I am very impressed with the fidelity of the Cox body representing the early version of the Ford GT40.
  12. Great to see an Ala Kart model built. I have been a fan since I first saw pictures of it as a kid and still plan to build one someday. I have a large poster of it from Rodder's Journal hanging over my hobby bench.
  13. Beautiful. One of my most wanted models. Like the real car the kits are rare and expensive. Does the mold still exist? If so, why has it not been reissued?
  14. I am enjoying seeing your "vintage" builds. Keep em coming.
  15. Great restoration. I have always like the styling of the early Toronados. Well presented
  16. Gorgeous build of an unusual subject. Great photos too.
  17. Very well done after a 10 year lay off. Build on.
  18. It is always great to see a Deuce build. Hard to believe this is 20 years old as it still looks fresh.
  19. Thanks Charles - Just started applying decals today so it is getting close to being done.
  20. I just dug my kit out which is the #84 Pro-Am Leasing Camaro in a blue and silver livery. If your kit like mine is molded in blue you could always just clear over the blue. Tamiya has many blues and I have most of them but for the most part they are darker than the car on the box. Tamiya French Blue with Pearl Clear must be an option. If you have a hobby shop near by you could take the kit to the shop and compare charts which are also available on-line. It is a pretty nice kit so I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
  21. This is a great project. I can never resist following a Deuce build.
  22. I do not often look at the truck sections of the forum but I am glad I did today. I am really enjoying this tread. A 29 Cab PU has been on my want to build list for a very longtime.
  23. Thanks Steve - That is going to be wickedly cool and pro-touring actually crossed my mind as I was taking the photos
  24. Body in white I id not do any work on this project during September to build a model of a friend's Model A street-rod but since the beginning of October I have been working away at it as time permits. I did have a few issues getting everything to fit and stay together like the hood in particular with its extra underneath structure. As a point of interest - the real car did run with a gap at the front of the hood for extra cooling !! The paint is Tamiya Bright White. Next will be the Fred Cady decal application which I am sure will be challenging over the rear spoiler and license plate area. The next time you see this will likely be Under Glass hopefully by early November.
  25. This has got to be the most detailed 1/24 engine I have ever seen. It is a work of art unto itself.
