Nice work on both of those. It's amazing what can be done with that old kit as long as no one looks underneath.

Second wheel falls off airliner in a couple of months...
oldscool replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
A lot of people just don't seem to care about how well they do their jobs anymore. No longer a standard of excellence in the workplace. Of course you are already well aware of this. -
I know how to deal with people like her. My irk is that I have to deal with it at all. This "single mother" is pushing 50 and her kids are old enough to be self supporting. She brings up the single mother thing any time she feels that her job is threatened.

My neighbor has been getting rid of the dozen stray cats that hang around our houses. Don't worry, he's not harming them just relocating them. No more nightly serenades.?

One of my favorite aircraft. Nice paint finish. -
I deleted my above post as I had written it in a way that made it easy to misinterpret so let me try again. I have a part time job that is normally low stress and not too physically demanding and is quite enjoyable except for one coworker who tries to belittle me in front of others because I am actually good at my job. They have gone as far as bringing their personal friends into the picture to try and intimidate me. Going to HR is not going to solve anything because they are female and a single mom. The company will in all likelihood take their side in the matter. i don't really need this job but I enjoy doing it and I get a big discount on auto parts from them. I hate people. Rant over.

Hello Ron, look for part number 141. It almost looks like part of the sprue by the way it is positioned. I wasn't trying to be negative it's just that I am a long time Mopar fanatic and get sort of anal about them. Someone else called me out for the same mistake when I built the first issue of this kit years ago.

What are the must-build classic kits?
oldscool replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What about the Monogram Classics series with the Duesenberg, Rolls Royce and Mercedes. Always thought they were excellent kits. Don't think these have been mentioned yet. -
I agree with you but this seems to be his building style. His painting has improved somewhat over time though. Sometimes I think he is deliberately trolling the perfectionists among us.

Looking really good but I have one little comment. What you have used for the wiper motor is really the "voice of the Road Runner" horn. The correct wiper motor is on the chrome tree and is kind of rectangular with a bump on it. The instructions have had it wrong from the first issue of these kits and I can't believe Round 2 hasn't corrected it after all the rereleases. I have seen this mistake made on almost every one of these that have been posted on this forum. Only a hardcore Mopar fanatic would catch the boo boo on the instructions so don't feel bad about it.

Just checked my Grumpy Vega kit and the odd wheel on the chrome sprue looks like a Keystone Klassic to me. -
No talk about the Round2 1971 Dodge Demon ?

Still waiting on mine. -
Has anyone received a preordered Demon from them yet? Impatiently waiting for mine.

Your most difficult kits
oldscool replied to T-Ray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
the old IMC Ford GT was the hardest kit I remember building. -
Looks great! this was always my favorite Jenkins car.

I like it. I have got to get some of the Fireball carbs. They add so much realism to an engine.
