I wonder how this wasn't considered copyright infringement

Might they be Keystones with ET center caps? -
I thought the same thing but have no 12 volt in my parts box. Since the pics were taken I have detail painted the terminals and caps.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I know my builds are just basic modelling but sharing them keeps me motivated to build more as I don't know any local modellers.

I was using rivet counters in a metaphorical sense which is why I put it in quotes.

Beautiful. I like it!

I've been waiting to see this one completed. Looks great!

Well, this is number four for the year and they have all been Round2 reissues. Built it as a sleeper that gives no hint of the Caddy engine under the hood. No protruding tailpipes or anything other than a floor shift conversion. I used Tamiya AS-8 Navy Blue with no clear coat as I remember many of them being faded to just about this state back in the day. OOB except for replacing the radiator hose with a single one instead of the under scale Y shaped thing that it came with and filling one of the holes in the radiator tank. Trouble free build except for the fit of the grille and front splash pan which required some jiggery- pokery and a bit of minor butchery to get right and having to strip and repaint the whole body. Thought about leaving off the trim rings but I just like the way they look and still can't decide if I want to use the air cleaner or not. What can I say about this kit. It's a nice old AMT trophy kit that builds easily and certainly looks the part.

I realize the guys build quality isn't so great but his videos are good for checking out kits before I buy them and he has good background music. Am I the only one who thinks he is deliberately trolling the "rivet counters" with his videos? To answer your question, yeah I think the hood is warped.

Nice models and too bad they got crushed. Very respectable brush painting.

Thanks for the offer but let me see what I can do with these. Thanks, will give it a try. -
Looks like you had a nice hike Bill. The middle of nowhere is my favorite place to be.

The warped hood is also noticeable in hpiguys video.

Anyone Have A History On Otaki Kits?
oldscool replied to oldcarfan's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have built several of the planes and not only are the panel lines engraved but they are so finely engraved that they rival some of the modern tooled kits. The decals sucked however. I still have the nice color profiles that came with them. -
Modeling TV sit-com cars from '50s-60s; any out there?
oldscool replied to W Humble's topic in WIP: Dioramas
I watch Kojak and The Rockford Files almost every weeknight and enjoy all the old cars as well as Adam 12. I've noticed in the Rockford episodes how much older the police cars and taxis are. It's a mid 70s show and the cop cars are 66-67 vintage. I don't think they kept cars for that many years in the real world. Don't forget the various new Chrysler products in the Beverly Hillbillies. -

Those are going to be awesome and that's a great pic of the 65 pulling the wheels. Always been a hardcore Mopar fan.
