Is there any evidence verifying that Shelby American used a 53 Ford pickup to tow their race cars?

Great looking model! Any fit issues? I have the C5R kit and, judging from the build up photo on the instruction sheet, it looks like there may be an issue with getting the body down over the chassis.

Where is the museum? I live about 15 miles from Carlsbad and never knew this museum existed.
