  2. A good solid build, well detailed and nicely proportioned, what's not to love? I'd say you've done a fabulous job. David G.
  3. You have some serious looking machinery there. I like the grab rails on the fender/sidewalls. David G.
  4. Nice color, very Seventies. David G.
  5. Fabulous front-end treatment! You came up with some truly clever solutions to the challenges that you faced. Kudos! David G
  6. Hello Everybody! This just in from our "Because there's always something" department. Upon fitting the chin spoiler for what I thought was to be the final time I discovered a noticeable lack of symmetry between the way the two ends meet up with their respective fender flares. Not a surprising revelation considering that there is no positive indication of where the spoiler is supposed to attach to the body. Not having having a solid locator for the spoiler, checking and adjusting the corrections I made was more a matter of guesswork than anything else. Luckily, it's always easier to remove material than it is to add it. So getting out the files and masking tape, I went to work. While waiting for the paint on the spoiler to dry, I installed the windshield. And here we are after some filing, reshaping and repainting. Ready for some reinstalling. Now, we'll let this settle into place and then get on with the rest of the build. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post any comments you may have. David G.
  7. Thank you for your kind comment Sonny. This build has been quite the challenge, I'm glad to know that my efforts seem to be paying off. David G.
  8. Hello Everybody! Splitting my attention between two on-going builds seems to be a good way to help avoid build fatigue. That feeling wherein one just gets tired of looking at, let alone working on the current project. This project is my sanity break from the Aoshima Lamborghini Countache that I've been working on since last September. Here's a link to that build for those who may be interested. Now on with the show. Revell's version of the Superbird comes with the one-piece rear axle and exhaust assembly. Handy for installation but a bit more of a chore when it comes to painting it. Here it is installed on the chassis plate along with the front K-frame. I was going to mask and shoot the subframes in semi-gloss black but every photo I could find on line showed that they were painted in the body color along with the rest of the floor. I started detail painting the interior by working some "woodgrain" on the center console pocket change receptacle. I did the white piping on the front seats by scraping away the black paint and used Molotow paint to add chrome bezels to the detail painted gauges on the dashboard. Meanwhile, detail painting and assembly continues on the engine. And who can't resist doing a test-fit mockup! That's all for this round. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post a comment. David G.
  9. Thank you Samuel. Thanks Jeff, I couldn't agree more. Thanks Greg, I appreciate that. Thank you Helmut. When you start building your LP400 just be aware that with these kits, there's always something that requires extra effort and attention. They're good kits but very finicky. For the windshield on this build I decided to wait until I was done with most of the manhandling to place it. That way I could avoid that particular nightmare you mentioned. In the photo above it's just resting in place with the masking tape used as a handle for lifting it out of the frame. I actually placed it permanently during yesterday's build session, most of which I ended up using to correct yet another situation. Because with these Aoshima kits, it seems that there's always something. I should have pictures to post tomorrow. Thanks again for all the comments, I appreciate you taking your time to offer them. David G.

  13. Nicely Done! David G.
  14. This project looks like what I would call a "skill stretcher". A build that helps you find out what you're capable of. You seem to have a great start on this, I can't wait to see more. David G.
  15. Beautiful engine detail, great color choice, body mods... smooth an' deadly! Gorgeous model! David G.
  16. That's one scary machine! It looks like a go-cart sporting a V-8 ! ? Fabulous work so far, I can't wait to see how it all comes out. David G.
  17. Your skills continue to improve, keep up the good work. David G.
  18. Fabulous looking models, both! I'm not sure if I would have had the courage to try to transport a race car in such a manner. But I'm also not sure I would have had the courage to drive one on the track either. So there you go. I seriously may not have believed that someone would have transported an F-1 car on a Transporter in such a manner had you not provided the photos to prove it. You did a wonderful job capturing a lesser known bit of auto racing history, well done. David G.
  19. The decals look great! That must have been quite a bit of work getting them all in place. David G.
  20. Thank you Trevor, I'm hoping to finally have this completed soon. Thank you Chaz. It had much the same effect on me at the time and I've wanted one ever since. This model is as close as I'm likely to ever get to actually owning one. David G.
  21. Nicely Done! I also like the title card photo you put together. David G.
  22. Nicely Done! Excellent set too. A great piece of television and automotive history well represented. David G.
  23. What a cool concept, exceeding well executed! David G.
  24. WOW! That is beyond fabulous Pierre! Museum quality my friend! David G.
  25. That's a difficult color to get correct, it looks like you nailed it! Nicely done.
