  1. Perfect right down to the manufacturer's marks on the belts. ? David G.
  2. Hello Everybody! In the midst of life, the universe and everything, work continues to progresses on the 1:32 Corvette. And here's proof. This is the primary color test. It's DupliColor Medium Quasar Metallic over their basic Gloss Silver. I think it's a good Corvette color. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  3. Thanks Mathias, I appreciate your comment. Thank you Pierre, it's nice to know that I can inspire once in a while people to do good things too. It probably wouldn't be too difficult to convert one of these kits into an LP400. I do feel like I'm getting close to completing this one. I can tell because I'm already planning my next build. Thank you Jeff. That is of course exactly what I'm trying for and it's nice to know that I'm on the right track. Thanks again, David G.
  4. Excellent chop job and it looks like you nailed the paint color. David G.

  6. Fabulous work so far! I think the color combination will look great. David G.
  7. Wow! Gorgeous color! As a VW fan, back in the day I would cringe when I saw a vintage split-window, instead of being restored, getting redone as a Cal-Looker, Hawaiian, or (yikes!) a Baja Bug. Given that this is just a model kit though, I think I can actually relax and enjoy the build. This looks like a fun project. David G.
  8. I saw the title of this thread and my first thought was: "Golf?! Who's posting a thread about golf?" ( American Master's Tournament Pro Shop) Aside from that, I have nothing of value to contribute to this discussion. David G.
  9. Looks like a fun and interesting project! You have a great start on it. David G.
  10. Over the years I've seen so many projects go uncompleted, I'm so glad to see you continue your amazing work on this project Randy. David G.
  11. Well Paul, in following your build, I've managed to use up all my superlatives in describing it is. And it just keeps getting better! Thanks for taking the time to share it, I do enjoy all the eye-candy. David G.
  12. Hello Everybody! Spoiler Alert! It's time to prepare the rear spoiler. Given the thinness of the pillars and the locations to which they mount, I decided to drill and pin them to ensure a more precise placement. It looks like the right pillar is a little skewed and will need some adjustment. I could probably get away with letting this go but... Nah, I won't do that. I adjusted the right pillar by filing its locator slot on the spoiler until there was enough wiggle room to align it properly. I then secured it and its mate to the spoiler with Tamiya Extra Thin Liquid Cement and let them cure long enough to be fixed yet workable. Next I temporarily mounted the spoiler to the body with everything aligned the way I wanted it, crossed my fingers and left it all to finish curing. I also installed the boot lid, engine cover and most of the other ducts and vents. Having all that in place really adds to the visual sense of completion. The next challenging step is mounting the windshield and other cockpit glass. That's all for this round. As always, thanks for sharing some of time by stopping to look and please feel free to post a comment. David G.
