Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
David G. replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm guessing that it sits so low because the engine weighs more than 2/3 of the entire rest of the car? Wild mock-up, it should look great when it's done. David G. -

Thank you so much for your kind words Adam! I do like to challenge myself with a few non-automotive builds every year. I see myself as a model builder who builds model cars, mostly. That's actually what I named my Facebook page, "Model Cars, Mostly". I've been working on uploading all of my builds there. I have about twenty builds posted there so far with many more to go. I've checked out your WordPress page and I've seen some of the amazing builds you've posted there. You have quite a wide variety of subjects, all of them very well done. Thanks again Adam for taking the time to comment, I appreciate that. David G.

Tight detail work, that chassis is really coming together! David G. -
truck, boat, and trailer
David G. replied to Paul Payne's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
If it were my build, I would seriously consider leaving the trailer in natural brass. Maybe polish it up a bit to get rid of some of the tool marks. But, yeah, it's beautiful as it is and it compliments the gold on the boat quite nicely. There's no doubt in my mind though, that whatever you choose to do, it's going to look fabulous. David G. -

Good call on the brake ducts, I also like all the other little bits you're adding. As I say, sometimes the smallest details can have the largest impact. David G. -
Nice basic interior. I'm interested to see how the body mods you made look with some color on them. David G.

Those are good looking wheels. Maybe it's just the camera angle, but the wheels look a little too large for the front wheel arcs and a little too small for the rear arcs. Or possibly, is this car customized to have different sized wheels front to rear? David G.

Stunning detail on the cockpit Paul! It would be hard to tell it apart from the real thing. David G. -
Excellent detail, right down to the valve stems and wheel weights! David G.

The results are certainly worth the time and effort, everything looks fantastic! David G.

I'd say you nailed it! Nicely done! David G.

Thank you Pierre! I had considered gluing the doors shut but I thought I should at least give it a try and see if I could make them operable. They're not quite done yet. There's still a bit more tweaking that I need to do... and gluing is always an option. David G.

1981 "Fast 111's" Corvette 1:32 Scale by MPC: WIP
David G. replied to David G.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hello Everybody! It's not often that I have two builds going at the same time and am able to make progress on both of them, but here we go. I'm not very happy with the way these turned out and will likely redo them But for now, Wheels! Some modest dash detail. Which, given the steep angle of the dash and the confines of the interior, will never bee seen again. Here is the painted and assembled interior. It's a very basic interior so I kept everything very basic using only detail painting. I tried some flocking and just couldn't get satisfactory results this time around so... paint. That's all for this round. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G. -
Thank you Dann! Coming from you, that means a lot to me. David G.
