Cool! I usually mask my engines using Silly Putty when needed. David G. -
I've always wanted to try my hand at a kit like this. It looks like there is a significant investment, not only in the kit itself and the time to complete it but also ancillary tools & materials as well as prep. Given all that, I'm most likely better to follow along with your build. At least for now. David G.

For the weathering on this, you've hit the perfect point between "not enough" and "too much". It all comes together in a very convincing and realistic whole that makes it difficult to distinguish the model from the real thing. Awesome work! David G.

Nailed it on both accounts! It's also interesting how the location, size and prominence of the sponsorship decals changed over that twenty years. In the early version, the car's name is the most prominent feature. In the latter version, the sponsor is most prominent with the car's name almost as an afterthought. Spectacular representation of some auto racing history! David G.

Hello Everybody! I've been plugging away on this one and I think I came up with what I hope will be a good looking paint scheme. I've disassembled most of the model and started on prep for detail painting. These lighter gray pieces have already been cleaned up, primed and shot with some Rustoleum Chrome paint. This will serve as the basecoat for my chosen color. It looks "chromier" in person than it does in the photo. But it's just there as a base to give my chosen color some extra punch. That's it for this round. As always, thanks for taking a look and please feel free to post a comment or two. David G.

Beautifully Done! Sweet detail work and paint. GM's gold never looked as good as this color does. David G.

After all the excellent work you put into this Dann, it'd be a shame to see it go unfinished. I hope everything is alright with you and your family. Be well, hope to see you back on the boards one day. David G.
