Ah, it looks much better now. That speedboat green had a bit of a 70's vibe to it. This shade looks a bit more contemporary. David G.

Hello Everybody! The past couple of weeks have been keeping me rather busy with household issues. At the end of January, our dishwasher sprang a leak and caused damage to the kitchen floor, the cabinets and the dining room carpet. Even having to deal with a couple of contractors and the insurance company, I've still managed to get some bench time in. Actually, I think I needed it to help preserve my sanity. So here's the update: After several rounds of filling, filing and sanding, I have the lower end of the engine looking a bit more like it's supposed to look. It's now ready for paint and detail. I wanted a dark base to add some richness to the color to the color I plan on using. So after washing and prepping the body, I sprayed it with some black Rustoleum sandable primer. This was the result. ? I'm not sure what caused the crazing so I'm blaming it on an interaction between the paint... the Rustoleum paint and the plastic. I've had trouble with Rustoleum in the past but I've also had it work well often enough that still I occasionally use it. And it still occasionally gives me problems. I've also heard of builders sometimes having trouble with orange plastic. ? Oh, well. In the tank it goes. That's all for this round. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post your thoughts, opinions and comments. Thanks, David G. -
Excellent work so far and a nice tribute to a builder who may no longer be with us. One quick suggestion for the paint issue on the trunk, if you haven't already addressed it. It looks to me that the light spot is in the gap between the trunk lid and body, why not just use some panel line darkener and throw some shadow into there? David G.

Thank you Peter. That's a good question, I've pondered that a couple of times myself. The only answer I can offer is that I was just following the assembly directions. The flares, mirrors, spoilers and wipers are all attached to the body right before it's all married to the chassis. The next to the last step. Also, I knew there were going to be some modifications to the chin spoiler required to get it to mate with the front flares. I was sort of putting that task off in favor of those I knew I could more easily complete at the time. So there was some apprehension and laziness there too. ? But it all worked out in the end. And the extra work I made for myself wasn't too terrible. Though if I ever build another one of these I'll certainly consider doing that earlier in the process. Thanks, David G.

Hello Everybody! Finally! The weather cleared and warmed up enough to shoot some paint. I managed to get one more coat on the Lambo and managed to make a satisfactory repair to the damaged flare fender. The rest of the paint came out nice and smooth too. Even though I feel as if I'm getting into the home stretch with this one, there is still more work to do. The doors for example. I still have to give them another coat of paint, do some clean-up, assemble and hang them. ? Well, onward and upward! David G.
