  1. Daaaaanng! The lowered stance really works well with this body style. And the color combination, just... wow! You did something a little different with the continental kit. I see that you used the stock bumper, but there's something else too. I'm sorry if that was in the WIP thread and I missed it. What was it? David G.
  2. Beautiful paintwork on that! All-around quality build. David G.
  3. A fine example of courage well executed! David G.
  4. A good, clean build. Nicely done! David G.
  5. Thank you Michal. David G.
  6. Sweet build! Great color combination and wheels, very classy. The PE bits give that extra bump. Well done! David G.
  7. Looks great, it seems to be coming along nicely. That's a bummer about the master cylinder, I hate losing parts. I know what what you mean about the steering gear. I did manage to get it slotted in on mine, it was rather like working one of those old BB puzzles in 3-D. I never did get it to connect to the pitman arm below, there's about 2mm of air between the two. Great work on the distributor and skirts. I'm just curious, did you install them before or after mating the chassis and body? David G.
  8. Wow Gareth! You turned this one around real quick and it looks fantastic. Great color combination, nicely detailed, excellent work! David G.
  9. Those look like some quality castings. David G.
  10. Verrrrry interesting. Nice styrene skills there! David G.
  11. Thanks Larry. Thanks Randy, it's nice to have it done. Thanks Gary, I'm glad you like it. I already have a start on my next build, I should have some photos to post in a couple of days. Thanks again, David G.
  12. In the right setting, it could easily be mistaken for the real thing. Superb finish and detailing. David G.
  13. Thanks David, I'm glad you noticed the plate. I wanted to use "FLAMINGO" but it looked awkward no matter how I tried to fit it in. I agree with you on the fit of the skirts in the kit, it's a compromise at best. It was a struggle to get them placed with the chassis installed. The mounting area of the skirts really doesn't follow the same curve that the fender has between the beltline and the bottom of the body. Cutting and fitting custom styrene pieces would be the only way to match the appearance of the real world factory-made skirts. I did think about fabricating my own skirts but I at this point in the process, I was more than ready to have it done and didn't want to cause more problems than I might be solving. For mounting the skirts, I used PVA. That gave me a long working time to get them placed aligned as well as I could. I installed them one at a time and had to hold them in place with toothpicks as the glue cured. The right one stayed in place while the left one sagged at the rear just a bit. I thought about correcting it but decided that I could live with it the way it was. Thanks for taking the time to comment John. I'd enjoy seeing your solution to this when you build yours. David G.
  14. This one is completed, see the photos of the finished build in the Under Glass section. A sincere thanks to all of you who followed me through this build, your feedback and support meant much to me. David G.

  22. Nice pair! Love the diorama too. David G.
  23. Great color! It makes the car look like a bronze sculpture, or a trophy. Nicely detailed too. David G.
  24. I have one of these that I plan to crack into this year. As you said, it should be a fairly easy build. What you have so far looks good. Do you plan on painting or using the molded-in color? David G.
  25. What a delightfully odd little vehicle! And with a PE kit included too? Wow! I'm reminded of the Cushman vehicles of the 70's that were used by some municipalities as parking enforcement here in the States. This should be an interesting project. David G.
