  1. That came out great! Clean and smooth, I love it. David G.
  2. Nicely Done! All those different colors on the chassis of the Chevy remind me of an illustration from one of those old "How It Works" books we all read as kids. David G.
  3. Nice work on the interior, excellent paint and detail. David G.
  4. Thank you Carl, your support is always appreciated. Thanks Beamerman, it's Tamiya TS 42 Light Green. I painted the chassis as a test to see how well the two colors played with each other. On the chassis, I painted the purple (TS 37 Lavender) first, then masked for the green areas. Not knowing how opaque the green was going to be, I sprayed a base coat of white first. I've since done a spoon test and found that the green will cover quite well straight over the purple and this will tone down the florescence a good deal and hopefully, bring the colors into a better relation to one another. Thank you Bil. I've built a pretty good collection of Bat-Vehicles and I wanted a Joker-Mobile to round things out a bit. My Joker is somewhere between Jack Nicholson's and Heath Ledger's, still kind of campy but getting more dangerous. David G.
  5. Excellent job, very convincing weathering and detail work! The tow bar is a nice addition. David G.
  6. Nice rescue work! Somebody spent a lot of time and effort building this one and it's good to know that the builder's work is still appreciated. BTW how did the interior fare with the cleanup? That custom cloth covering must have added to the challenge. David G.
  7. Nice stance. I agree on keeping the bench. David G.
  8. Very cool. David G.

  11. Excellent color choice, good clean build, looks great! David G.
  12. The wheel change makes good sense. A retro tie-back as it were. David G.
  13. I like where you're going with this one. David G.
  14. Looks great, love all the extra details! David G.
  15. If anyone can make this work, it's you Brad. I'll get some popcorn. David G.
  16. Okay, last photo for this one, I promise (I hope). I usually do a display case shot, so here it is! Thanks again to everyone who followed and supported me on this one. David G.
  17. Thank you Gareth. Yes, it's nice when the extra effort pays off. David G.
  18. Thank you! David G.
  19. I bought this as a bagged kit many years ago at a local swap meet and I've been waiting for the proper inspiration to build it. From plain box stock to all out chopped and channeled customs I, like many of us, have seen just about every rendition of 1949 Mercury that can possibly be built. There are, in fact a couple beautiful examples going on on this board right now. But I wanted to do something different with mine. A few years ago I built this kit as the Gotham City Police car. Unfortunately, this edition didn't come with the complete Joker decal set which is part of the reason that I settled on building the police car. But I still wanted a Joker-Mobile for my Batman collection and I ended up purchasing a Joker decal set online for future use. That future is now! This Merc will be built as the Joker-Mobile! More than just a goon car, this will be the royal chariot of the Clown Prince of Crime himself. The custom work won't be too involved and will consist mostly of paint and accessories. I decided to start with the basic kit-provided flathead V-8 Here's a color test on the chassis. I think the green is a little too bright compared to the purple. I think I'll do a few spoon tests to see if I can balance them against each other a little better. That's all for now! As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  20. You have some good detail work going there. David G.
  21. I know I'm late to the game but... spectacular work on this so far! I can't say much more that hasn't already been said. David G.
  22. Looks Great! This must be Edsel month on the MCM boards. Maybe we should make next month '49 Mercury month! David G.
  23. Beautiful work! David G.
  24. Hello, here is a quick snap of the engine bay for those who may be interested. I almost always do some dirt and weathering on the chassis and engine bay but there may be a bit too much on this one. But this is probably the first and last time that anyone besides me will ever see it. I still have to get a shot of it in my display case too. Thanks again, David G.
  25. Great paintwork and detailing! David G.
