Nice progress on this, excellent color choice. Metallic pastels do seem to suit the body style, I painted mine in a frosty purple. David G.

Bat-Pod: Finished
David G. replied to David G.'s topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Thanks for the compliment. I had notice that the rear trailing arm did have a hex stud and socket assembly. I actually almost assembled it in a technically incorrect higher setting but I noticed that it was keyed to insert in only one position. So I see how one could adjust the rear axle height but I don't recall any obvious means of adjusting the front assembly. I did follow the links to the pics and they are interesting but I still like it in the standard configuration. Thanks for sharing the information, I probably would nor have realized that such a thing was an option. David G. -

Looks great so far! What kind of decals came with it? The color you chose just cries out for some bold 70's style graphics. David G. -
Beautiful detailing work you've done so far. The chrome you mentioned doesn't really detract from the other work you've done. I'm also impressed by the look of the color-molded frame. Usually if the box says "Molded in color" outside, there's disappointment inside. Not so with this one. BTW, what year bike is the kit a model of? My son owned a 2003(?) Ninja and it would be cool if I could build him a version of the one he owned. David G.

Looks like you're off to a good start. I built one about eight years ago and the casting was a bit rough back then. I can only imagine what it's like now. The version I built had a decal sheet with yellow scallops instead of the flames pictured with yours. David G.

Thank you. David G. -
This is the Bat-Pod by Moebius Models. It's a rather simple kit, not much more work than building a fairly detailed engine for a scale automobile. For those who may be interested, here is a link to the build thread I added a set of cables to the hand grips- brake, throttle, whatever. I mean it's a Bat-Pod so who knows what they are. The tires have been appropriately weathered with earth tone pastels. I also put a bit of red wire under the engine shroud. Some of the images I found during my research showed a similar feature so I popped one in there. Additionally, I placed a cable running from under the shroud, along the frame and attaching to the rear wheel. Again, based on research. This is easily one of the most fragile kits I've ever built. Every time I pick it up I feel like I'm cradling a soap bubble in my finger tips. As always, thanks for taking the time look and please always feel free to comment. David G.

I have mounted the "handlebars". This completes the construction of the basic kit. But I'm sure you know I'm not going to stop here. I plan to add a few extra details and do a bit more weathering just for the sake visual interest. As always, thanks for taking the time t look and please always feel free to comment. David G. -
It's a great looking car, good color choice and a well done conversion. I've seen your work many times on this forum and I'm always favorably impressed. I would like to make one suggestion though. If you have access to photo editing software, you may want to try cropping your photos a little closer to the car. This way you can show less of the background and a closer view of your model allowing for more of the detail work to be seen. If you don't have access to photo editing software or are unable to otherwise edit you photos, that's okay, it's just a suggestion. I do enjoy the photos you post and I appreciate you taking the time to share them with us. Best Regards, David G.

If you're ever in the mood for a quick build, this Bat-Pod would be a great choice. I now have all the sub-assemblies assembled. Next up is building and attaching the handle bar units and then some weathering and detailing. As always, thanks for taking the time to look. David G. -
