  1. Smooth and deadly. David G
  2. There are so many cool builds here, it makes me want to jump in on the action, so count me in! I've started one of the police cars from the Robocop movie. I'll get some pics posted as soon as I get some time to take and post them. Regards, David G.
  3. Thanks for the kind words! I've hit another snag. I want the main cooling intake and rear exhaust "thruster" to have a chrome finish. The Testors Metalalizer is nice, but it just doesn't have the look that I want. I'm shopping for an airbrush so I can spray some Alclad. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks, David G.
  4. Those old racers just bring a smile to my face. Great job on this one! David G.
  5. Nice detail, especially the lettering on the tail light. Very cool! David G.
  6. Most impressive, sir! There's so much going on here that I don't know where to begin. David G.
  7. I love the idea for the pin on the rear pop-out windows, very cool! David G.
  8. Excellent work! I like the normal sized wheels and I think the red mufflers are cool! David G.
  9. Everything about this one is just right- great work! David G.
  10. Made just a little more progress on the Chevy Proton. I added more of the "chromie bits". I also got the foiling done. Thanks for looking, David G.
  11. Very cool chop job, good color choice! David G.
  12. Looks like the "Before and After" pics are reversed. Seriously, though- an excellent restoration. BTW: The real world supports Shabby and Shiny, Beauties and Beaters as well as Rusters and Racers; so do I! David G.
  13. I missed this one the first time through. You, sir, are an artist with the air brush! Another very cool project. David G.
  14. A new class... Rat-Gasser? Whatever it is, it's very cool! David G.
  15. I've been following this build since the very start and I'm very impressed with what you've done so far, but I'd like to offer my opinion on the "hydro hopper" question. I wouldn't worry too much about hydraulic cylinders, pumps and actuators. With all the stone, bones and weapons on the truck, you've pretty much jumped into the realm of fiction with both feet. I'd say you could get away without giving a "realistic" justification for the stance of the vehicle. Besides, the Grim Reaper is a Dark Angel with vast and amazing powers and could do pretty much anything he wanted, right? Keep up the good work! David G.
  16. In some cases, that could merely be accurate modeling. I've seen more than a few new cars with mis-matched panel paint density. David G.
  17. No you're not crazy, I already do just that. My camera picks up details that my eye cannot. I frequently take pics of questionable bits or areas to see them in greater resolution and detail. If it looks good in the picture, it'll look good to the naked eye. David G.
  18. Thanks for all the encouraging comments and compliments. I did, however just notice the new rule at the top of the Workbench page... For those viewing others who are presenting their works in progress in this section of the forum, please keep your criticisms, sarcasms, and other comments to yourself, unless the builder/poster has specifically asked for such replies. Please consider this my offical and specific request for criticisms and/or comments; including, but not to be limited to, comments of a constructive, critical, creative or observational nature. As long as such comments are true and factual as based on the opinion of a skilled builder of scale models of any type, said comments will be taken into consideration. Such consideration in no way implies any contract of any sort and therefore, no action or reaction of any kind on my part is to be expected or anticipated by the commentor. Comments of an insulting, derogatory, sarcastic, inflammatory, or just plain mean nature will be blithely ignored or derisively chuckled at. Seriously, I value all the comments I've received on the projects I've posted here over the past couple of years. I've learned a lot from the tips and pointers offered by the many highly skilled builders on this forum. I would greatly like to continue receiving those tips and pointers. Thank you all, your input has made me a much better builder. David G.
  19. I guess I don't have enough run-ins with the cops to be up on all the slang names for them. Thanks, David G.
  20. Excellent work. The weathering looks great, just the right ammount. David G.
  21. The Matadors of this era have been one of my favorite body styles since I first saw one back in the early 70's. I really like what you've done with this one. David G.
  22. That's a perfect mixture of 70's glitzy glam and excess; conspicous consumption at its peak! Excellent work. David G.
  23. No More D.U.I. ! ! David G.
