  1. Thanks Carl, it's always great to have you along. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks, David G.
  2. Nice catch on the molding issue Kevin as it certainly would have shown itself after you put some color down on it. Speaking of color, that blue over the silver looks fabulous! David G.
  3. It looks good Pat. After the way it's fought you it must be nice to be so close to finishing this one. David G.
  4. That's a great color for a Corvette Joe, and the paint looks beautiful. I can't wait to see how the wheels turn out. David G.
  5. Thank you Jim. These cars are huge! I had the chance to drive one years ago and it was like driving a ground-level bus. Similar to driving a full presidential stretch limo but not as maneuverable. Thanks again for posting you comment Jim. David G.
  6. Thank you.
  7. I didn't know that there were that many Brass Era kits out there! ? Fabulous work on each of them. David G.
  8. What a delightfully eclectic collection! I always enjoy seeing your work. David G.
  9. Wow John! That's an incredibly impressive turnout for the year! Congratulations on the show placements too. I really like the Caddy. Coincidentally, I'm working on my own version of that AMT 57 Ford. So far it seems to be a decent kit. David G.
  10. Nice set for the year! Great color choice for the Rover! Do you recall what you used? I also like the photo set for the Gold Chevy, very cool! David G.
  11. A magnificent set for the year! (yes, that was intentional) That's quite a collection of Pontiacs! I always enjoy seeing your photo diorama too. David G.
  12. Excellent technique for getting a marble finish! I've seen this kind of dip painting used for other applications but I don't think I would have thought to use it for model building. Thanks for sharing the tip. Nice progress on the rest of the build too. It's quite easily the most detailed and well-appointed version of this kit I've ever seen. David G.
  13. Hello Everybody! Here's the first mockup for the AMT Surf Shark. It has a good stance right out of the box. I'm working on retrofitting it into a more traditional ambulance. Here's a link to the WIP thread if you're interested. Thanks, David G.
  14. Hello Everybody! Here's a progress report on the Surf Shark. I got the white painted and some of the red (Tamiya X-7) trim painted. I also shot the dashboard with DupliColor Cardinal Red and temporarily snapped it into place for safe keeping. Taking a photo of the interior at this stage was like taking a photo of a polar bear in a blizzard. More progress on the interior. I cleaned up a little more of the red where I slopped it up and painted the carpets with Tamiya XF-63 German Grey. Though it can't be seen here, I also started some detail painting on the dash. I have the roof smoothed to where I can be satisfied with it, though I'll probably do one more check before sending it to the paint shop. As always, thanks for taking time to look and please feel free to leave any comments or thoughts you may have. David G.
  15. Thank you Chaz! David G.
  16. Hello Everybody! Here's the next update on the Surf Shark ambulance retrofit! Progress with putty! A little sanding and smoothing followed by some putty. Which was followed by more sanding and smoothing. Starting with the interior paint. After primer, the floor was sprayed with Tamiya AS-10 Ocean Gray. Here it's been masked to cover it while the next color, white is sprayed. As always, thanks for stopping by for a look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  17. Welcome to the forum Luca. That's a good looking build to add to your already well rounded collection. David G.
  18. A fabulous build! I love your photo diorama too. David G.
  19. Thanks Joe, I'm glad you like it. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out too... except for that dang hood. Ah well, if that's the worst problem I have to deal with in the coming year, it'll be a good year. Thanks again for your kind comment Joe and I hope you have a great 2024. David G.
  20. A beautiful build, love all the detail! David G.
  21. Wow! ? That's a lot of builds for one year! Each one looks great but I especially like the Surf-Woody and hearse. David G.
