  1. and final pics. kit was great fun! cranky are you going to have an under glass segment for the build-off?
  2. here's the current camera pics (not the ipad hehe)
  3. Gonna call this one done unless I end up putting stuff in the trunk, which I'm sure I will. I apologize for the quality of the pics. I will get more pictures from a real camera soon.
  4. i still don't get this fact: because the guy doesn't post on here, you guys can critique his work and make fun of it or whatever. IF the guy came here and started posting under glass, you guys would be doing the exact opposite. why is this? maybe y'all just don't have the guts to say it to them directly, or you simply aren't allowed to tell it like it is to the actual builder due to the rules of the forum. only you know what's holding you back. my suggestion: either stop talking about his quality work, or let the dogs loose and let them HONESTLY critique the people who post under glass.
  5. This is mine.
  6. He could be a professional wrestler that just happened to build a model? Just because he used "pro" it isn't indicative of his model building as being said profession. Personally I wouldn't buy the model unless it was something that really interested me, then I would rebuild it. I really don't care what the title says or how they position it in the ad. And lol @ the false praise statement made earlier.
  7. I hear ya. I label my threads so it isn't confusing to me. But somebody else might feel that being vague might get more replies.
  8. Sometimes posting concise topic titles and tags get no results. Sometimes being vague invokes curiosity and people will actually open the thread and read it, therefore having a much better chance of getting a response vs the concise attempts. Of course I speak from the other side of the fence. The dark side of sorts. Most of the time it is the person who starts the thread that gets responses. If a member is popular, they can be super vague and still get the masses to follow suit, simply because of who they are. The mentality of "oh well it's ______ so he must have a good post.." plays true.
  9. Mental note to self. Stop at thrift stores daily.
  10. I used to stay on the up and up with computer technology because I was heavy into gaming. Not so much any more. I am staying up to date now with my iPad 2, and the thing is used for two reasons. 1. Reading the forum and the use of the chat room here. 2. Research. The iPad 2 has wireless capability, so when I'm at work, I pull up photos of different cars for reference pics. Since I don't build at work, I make use of my time and save oodles of pictures to it. So far so good!
  11. I had a weird dream that I got to meet cranky face to face. I was in a parking lot and he showed up in one of the post apoc vehicles.
  12. And kinda a preview of the end result mocked up
  13. Some progress. Did the wood grain and finished the headliner, etc. I decided to do the hood a little different with the chrome down the center. All that's left is headlights, parking lights, battery and other small stuff I might not install like the hood props etc. Also gotta install trunk hinges as the body is not glued in place. Just some minor touch ups from there and it should be done!
  14. I don't wanna be the negative nancy or Debbie downer here, but more the informative "tried that" guy. A.R.C. I know you are looking at that 57 ford. Forewarning: the engine will not fit in the engine bay without some serious modification to the firewall. I am building the same car for the fabulous 50s community build and had all the car guys looking at it too. The engine simply will not fit, nor does it appear that it's even supposed to fit, like the engineers just didn't bother to even test fit it. For my particular model I was even trying the out of box directions with the supercharger! Yours might be different, but to make sure, test fit everything.

  16. I can honestly say the decals were more difficult than they needed to be, only because they didn't want to let go of the paper. And I'm not even done with them yet! I will probably get a dish and do some decals while on my lunch break so I can consider the body done with the exception of the future clear coat. The carbon fiber decal set will be a nice addition to the kit.
  17. After watching top gear, I would have fun with a reliant robin.
  18. And a layout of parts including scale motorsport composite carbon fiber decals and photo etch set
  19. Here's the pic of my progress. The color call out was not a readily available color so I had to follow kit directions and mix bottle paint, thin, and airbrush. These decals were tough to get them to separate from the backing paper, had to use a hobby knife. Sorry for the quality.
  20. I assume the price will be roughly 65-70.
  21. I'm thinking of just creating a mammoth/elephant skull with tusks. Hopefully it turns out good.
  22. I have a question. And this would be for anybody to answer should they like. How would y'all create an elephant skull? And would you guys know where I can find a turbine engine?
  23. I found my platform in which I shall base my madness on. Due to hit the shelves next month. http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlusa/prodd.asp?pid=BOM35100 It's the dragon 1/35 buffalo 6x6 mpcv. It will be highly modified
