  1. Are you doing a resin version, Greg? Oh, I just looked over the website too - Sequim, WA? Weird place for a business like that...nice place, but...
  2. Yup. High prices. Poor selection. Annoying store overall...
  3. I second this. Very, very little in the 1/16 world. Would like to do the AMT 55 Nomad as a gasser...looking for suitable tires...
  4. I’ve never had issues spraying Duplicolor over Tamiya. Not that it won’t happen, but so far, for me, no issues.
  5. Yup, we’d probably last all of two weeks!
  6. Yes...and, as far as I know, all three make their own wheels, so they are very accurate for the purpose - I don’t think any are copies of kit wheels...?
  7. For 5 lug, late model cars, this kit from Aoshima has the best (and the cool thing is, it also includes wheels with the wheel covers, so you can raid the steelies and still build the model): I got this kit to replace the wheels in Fujimi’s Evo model with these horrible wheels (photo from the internet - can replace with mine when I get home):
  8. I’ll dig out some others later, but for anybody looking for late model 4 lug steel wheels, these from Asuka are very nice: They include four, two piece wheels with either a shallow or deep rim. They also include extra lug nuts and two clipboards.
  9. Steel wheels. Tires. Non-V8 engines. Headlights. Decals.
  10. Very cool video. Love the sound of Dave Strickler’s Old Reliable going by at 11:35 or so. 1000 cars? That’s an incredible amount of drag racing.
  11. Monogram F350 has 8 lug duallie wheels.
  12. Ok, that’s very impressive. To make a 3D object appear 2D is pretty incredible.
  13. This very discussion is already happening on multiple threads.
  14. I have had very good service from Plaza Japan. They also sell on eBay as Tokyo-Hobby, but if you go to their website, shipping is cheaper. Packages can take up to 3-4 weeks, but I always choose the cheapest shipping. The Isuzu I am hoping the RS Turbo version is a future release...? I knew/know very little about these cars but have been having fun learning and researching them recently. The Lotus package would be cool too.
  15. This really makes the I Mark look like a good idea. I saw they came with stickers and that kind of threw me... Goofy little thing.
  16. I agree with Rob, but definitely see the other points. I don’t think folks will be making their own wheels or engine blocks, so the small detailing parts and as needed styrene bits make sense. I built a model without wiring the engine and regretted it. Looked too plain. Depends on kit though...
  17. There is a version of the Fujimi Mini that has somewhat similar...? Maybe? And it’s cheap Plaza Japan
  18. Oh, true that. I guess I glanced over your US market line.
  19. Fujimi and Aoshima did 323s, Hasegawa Cosmo, and there are the 1/20 RX3s and a Cosmo... I would love to see more Mazdas too. Maybe in Hasegawa’s future...? The new Mazda 6 is a beautiful car. I don’t see this (the I Mark) as an American market door buster. I don’t think we even got any of the supe’d up versions like the irscher or RS turbo.
  20. Sounds like you might have less time for fiddling with your plastic hobby! It’s all good though. By the way - if you have time to read, and haven’t read it previously, your new homestead reminds me of the book Angle of Repose. An excellent book (one of my favorites) about an engineer and his family in the Wild West - they spend some time in a canyon around your new neck of the woods (or sage brush) trying to design and plan irrigation systems.
  21. As soon as the birds start chirping and a majority of that evil white stuff is gone, my brain shifts from model mode to outside mode.
  22. Thanks for info. The side repeaters are included with the kit and the instructions do show installing them on the “late” version.
  23. Thanks! The sprue with the interior tub, left side, has the rear seat. Next to the RHD dash.
  24. Haha. Yes and no. There is a small contingent of modelers who love (or, at least, like very much) oddball models. The more doors the better. The more mundane, the better. This kit is the epitome of “What?”, but that’s what makes it desired. I was very surprised to see the box from Japan so early. I preordered from Plaza Japan and always choose the slowest shipping - got lucky - must have had an extra nook or cranny to fill on an outgoing flight...you’ll probably get to gluing yours faster than me though.
