Estafette is totally cool too. If I remember correctly, I ordered the Mehari and other van thing direct from Heller a couple years ago and price and shipping was reasonable.

Volvo 240 Turbo 1986 Macau Race Winner , Lets Have A Look
Erik Smith replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I got mine today - seems the P.O. “tried” to deliver three times then gave up and didn’t bother to tell me they had it. Anyhow... Very nice kit that could EASILY be done as a close to stock street machine thing R something. The body looks to be darn close to a stock 240 - even the trunk access gas cap things are molded shut. I got the PE set and I’ll post a photo here in a bit. Here is the PE set - is it worth the money? I don’t know. The gas tank gets a PE cover and a few other chassis parts but they actually look pretty good as molded... -
Yay! The Gordini is back!

Wow. Really cool. The link for the carbs goes to a side draft carb - any place to get the down draft? I would be interested... Awesome!

I like the wheel cover choice. Very 80’s.

Haha. Nice. I like it.

Anybody else get their preorders in... This model still mystifies me - in a good way. I know only 3% of US buyers will care about it...but I’m exited.

Or google “seamless denim pattern”. Should be some free ones and you can put as many pieces together as you need, then print out a decal.

Fireball Modelworks makes two replacements with correct bow.

First model kit I ever built. Cool. Does it have a copyright on the box? Just curious.

Yup. I actually don’t know how much difference there is between polished aluminum and regular chrome at 1:25 scale, especially on a small part like a wheel. I’ve never sprayed them side by side to compare...

Yeah, I think they’re supposed to be XT Commandos? Also interesting on the front flares - the “Stroppe” Baja I believe only had rear flares. I like the new wheels - maybe - if they are correct size. They look deeper than the first set. Cool model though.

Oh man, great looking model. Excellent work. Does anybody else cringe seeing the model laying on its side on that cement looking surface?

There was a likelihood the TPP would have rolled back then eliminated the Chicken Tax, but I think that’s off the block for now.

Thanks Jonathon. Good video. Ugh. I really don’t need anymore models, but how can you turn down an economy van that probably shouldn’t even be a model? -
Airbrush paints for interior and chassis
Erik Smith replied to tengel78's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I second the Alclad II Steve mentions above. I use it on lots, well, most of my chassis parts. The great thing about an airbrush is you can use just about any paint you want - just thin it and spray it. I use Testors enamels, Tamiya acrylics, old Floquil enamels (actually one of the best for airbrushing!)...you have access to all the paints and colors. You can even use nail polish... -
I just did. They are pretty easy to find! Not counting on the decals still being good - probably have to make a copy, but still. My plan is to build it OOB - ugly/cool/funky as it is...

Wow. Original paint! Beautiful car. Amazing. -
Nice - Looking forward to the Toyota van review... My 240 has been in San Francisco since January 4...?

Best Masking Tape to use.
Erik Smith replied to foxbat426's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Tamiya masking tape. -
I think that’s close to the size of my entire car.

I like those decals. Was that an actual model or a made up custom?

good source for 1/24 spark plug wire
Erik Smith replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I like Detail Master too. If you can find the older packages, they used to put in A LOT more wire. I think I got a package of yellow (the new yellow is metallic looking too, so I avoid it) and it has 8 feet - versus the 2 they do now - for the same price - on eBay.
