  1. Yeah, 50 is impressive - especially because they are great looking models. I read 50 books one year.
  2. Great collection.
  3. Agreed. Should be able to get a fix on that - always a pet peeve of mine when grills fit like that.
  4. Honestly, nothing. If I feel like getting something, great. But, like you, I have enough kits to last until I am dead.
  5. Uh, "deal with wife and kids"? Savor the time you get with both. Time doesn't bend, it goes. Fast. If I have time to work on models, great, but I would never resent time with my wife and kids.
  6. As stated above, the fan will blow dust onto your project and circulate all the paint fumes around the room - some out the window, some back around and through the fan again and repeat... You really want somethkng to draw the fumes out instead of blowing them out, so even placing the fan right in front of the window and blowing outside would work better, but still not a good choice if your using paints like Mr Topcoat. You should get a big box with a fan of some sort - do some research as there is debates about which to use - that draws air out of the box and directly out the window. Squirrel cage fans work the best but are more expnsive - they move a lot of air and the motor is not in the fume stream. I think the fan and open window would be fine for hand painting and body putty stuff, just not for spraying.
  7. I like what I see so far! I'll be getting my kits in line this weekend and I'll post up the boxes. Both the Pacer and Citation were on my shortlist, but I decided on something different...
  8. ...and hope you don't hit a head wind!
  9. It's nail polish - I'll dig the bottle out and let you know.
  10. This is what I use now: Big can of lacquer clear gloss from hardware store. I haven't had any issues with it...yet. It's relatively in expensive - about $6.00 or so IIRC.
  11. Great looking models. I see a theme...
  12. Not sure about Spaz, but Alclad does require a gloss black base - preferably an enamel. Then light sprayed on chrome. I don't think brushing works with these type paints because of the way the tiny particles adhere to the black base. It's kind of like magic. I have another question - why were you trying to chrome those hubcaps on chrome sprue? I would recommend removing the parts, cleaning up mold lines and attachment points, then primer, base black, chrome. Black sealer? Is that the black base coat? A dealer sounds like something you put over the chrome... Enamel base coats allow the chrome paint to "bite" the undercoat and provide a more durable finish. You can get very good results with a lacquer base, but the chrome will be very susceptible to rubbing off.
  13. I have used it quite a bit - but the humidity here is usually very low...like 10 to 20 percent. So I've not had any fogging. It is quite hot as far as paints go - I've had it bring colors and mold lines through multiple coats of primer and paint.
  14. Hipsters don't build models, so no demand...
  15. The ever popular "I don't have enough money to buy that but even if I did I wouldn't, by people who will never have enough money so it's easy to say you never would" thread?
  16. Ditto. Most are totally gewgawed up for American markets. I have been fortunate to drive cars in a few different countries and always liked things like base model manual transmission cars - RAV4s and Landcruisers...that for some reason are completely full of doodads here in the USA...
  17. Looks very cool. Great work. That is a nice kit - very finely molded - and considering its been slung around and released quite a few times, the molds held up well. The windshield frame itself is very delicate.
  18. Three, I think...anybody else have trouble remembering when they finished a model? Revell 1957 Ford mild custom Old Vega promo in fictitious clothing And my Cannonball 2014 entry, AMT 1966 Riviera
  19. Here's another one in recently picked up Has some type of CB radio and lamp on a desk in the back.
  20. What Lee said. If you're selling with a fixed price, you can try emodelcars first, but you will have about 3.65 billion more customers on eBay.
  21. No, it won't.
  22. Get the Iwata Eclipse HP. I prefer Gravity feed. That's all you need. They are solid, easy to maintain and have compression fit needles. Also parts are now available at HL and a lot of hobby shops. Don't get the NEO. It has a rubber grommet which will need replaced. The NEO are just cheap rebranded AB in Iwata packaging. Don't waste your money on an Iwata compressor. They are not worth what you pay and air is air. Just get a good regulator and one or two water traps.
  23. Nice work, good variety Rob. I don't think I saw the '56 before - cool color combo. I got three too - actually can't beleive the year is gone...
