  1. Yes, they spray very well out of the can. Yes, you need primer. You will also need to clear as most don't finish out in a high gloss. Their clear works well. Duplicolor will ghost - so proper prep is paramount. The new Revell plastic seems worse than others...
  2. It looks like base steel wheels are included, though. I think they came chrome or painted? I'll have to look at mine tomorrow and compare...
  3. One sprue APPEARS to be set up for chrome - wheels, outer part of grill, bumpers - but that doesn't mean it will. The engine looks very interesting too - they could have done the Tamiya/Aoshima thing with a couple parts/insert - but it's got a full on, full detail deal! What? Separate U bolts for the rear end? Oh my.
  4. I don't know why people think rich people have no brains. $17000 to some is equivalent to $20 to others.
  5. Easy Off. Takes chrome and undercoat off.
  6. It's hard to find really small pins - really small is relative, of course... The best, but not cheapest, are scale rivets. A search on eBay (check BNA model world, they have a lot of such details - they are in Australia, but shipping is decent) or such will yield some results. They come in sizes more suited to actual model building (1 mm or less, which represents a fairly large 1" head in 1/25). From BNA, you can get 100 1.2mm rivets for about 15-20 bucks, shipped. Others are more expensive. Another option for very small pins or snaps is silver wire - I drill a hole, insert the wire and trim close to final "depth". Then paint as normal and finish the snap by sanding the paint off the end of the wire. I did that for the top on this kit: The snaps are very small on most tops and this seems an easier way for me to apply them. Hope that helps!
  7. Tell her to mind her own business. No, just kidding. Maybe it could be like Patrick and Demi in Ghost, only with a model car... My guess? She wants to see what you like.
  8. Here is one of my crew trucks…Juniper Dunes ORV park in central WA…yeah, it's a rough job. It's a 2009 F250, my other is a 2012 F350
  9. It'll be interesting to see how the engine goes together and looks - the engine bay on these diesels is literally completely filled! I am slapping a winch bumper on my truck this week...this is cool news.
  10. Okay...I don't normally build trucks...BUT, both of my work trucks are Fords and my newest is a F350 crew cab...so, this is way cool!!!
  11. It's like Harry's game, but with a tire... I think your tire on the left looks like the Lola tire - I couldn't find any that looked just like the mystery tire. Tamiya did have some 1:12 tire packs with rain tires, but I couldn't positively ID that exact tire.
  12. No. That was Duplicolor base and clear. I haven't used any matte finish metallics.
  13. Depends on how minor. I use CA glue to fill small cracks and ejector pin marks. Hit the CA with accelerator and you can sand in a few minutes. For very light joints, I use Mr Surfacer 500, which is just a thick primer.
  14. Nice work so far! Great looking chassis. I never realized these were all wheel drive...
  15. Welcome. Bangkok is a very interesting place! I don't recall many model shops...but I wasn't looking much...
  16. First item - transmission from Revell 2010 Camaro: Replacing molded in wires:
  17. I am in! AMT's 1966 Buick Riviera. Power via Revell ZR1... Wheels from Fireball Modelworks (tires too, but might switch them out):
  18. Here is the part and the instruction sheet picture. Not really anything special.
  19. Yes. Some of the Tamiya flat sprays are not available in gloss and take a gloss very well. I also have used Tamiya white primer and just cleared over that. I like flats as they seem to hold edges better - it's probably just my imagination, but still...
  20. Great looking model!
  21. Very cool. Beautiful paint.
  22. Don't clear over Alclad shiny finishes - I have even got mixed results using Alclad's clear designed for it - takes the shine down and leaves a dull look.
  23. It LOOKS like a very well detailed kit
  24. I looked at every picture of Renaults on the internet...
