  1. I find it sad that the church is only interested in the revenue the collection will generate. I would think a museum in his honor would be the thing to do and keep the collection intact.
  2. More then I need and with upcoming move in a few months, there is going to be a lot less.
  3. Fantastic looking truck, I really like the color!
  4. Gino - I subscribed when I found out Tim Ahlborn has a column - Truckers Corner !
  5. That is really nice. I like the coe much better then the L-700 cab. That is the coolest Milk truck I have ever seen! Will you be offering these cabs for sale?
  6. I am very happy that the magazine arrived in a poly bag. Here is a recent example of how our mail generally gets to us. Not only is it mutilated it had been wet enough to have been in a flood. My wife has canceled all her subscriptions due to the same problem. We inquired to the Post Offices on why the mail was arriving so damaged and usually wet - we got a letter back stating they are Not in the business of replacing mail, we have to contact the publishers for that. What ? we were asking for them to look into the problem of the carriers that deliver to the PO. Typical Govt. business - having no recollection or any responsibility of what is happening.
  7. Brian - I am very impressed with how this truck looks so far. What will you use for the fuel tank straps BMF or some of that aluminum tape for duct work?
  8. Wow, that sounds really great. I got my first issue ever (#200) yesterday. Best model magazine I have read yet! I wish I would of seen that deal, I had tried buying back issues back in December with no luck.
  9. I recently subscribed, my first issue #200 showed today in a very nice durable plastic sleeve. No damage by mishandling from the post office. What a great magazine, I can not believe I have never seen one before in all my years of modeling - but then again I have always lived in remote locations.
  10. Phil , here you go- http://kdhumphr.wix.com/double-take-replicas#!kenworth-coe-grille/m5ec9 Thank you guys for looking in and commenting!
  11. This is the most realistic picture I have ever seen modeled on a bucket and boom. Every thing about it is perfect and If I had not seen the previous pictures I would of though it to be a reference picture. The rest of the model is top notch also but the pic above - Wow!
  12. Richard , I am also guilty of looking at the Birthdays and seeing if they are active as I sometimes send a Happy Birthday p/m to members. It is hard to say where they have all gone, I was a long time member at FSM and when they changed their forum format I did not care for it. Add to the fact I quit building aircraft and ships - not much reason to spend any more time there. I also think that maybe the facebook groups capture more attention. This I do not know for sure as I dont fb , but I see post here linking to the pages there. Who knows, this is a great place for my interests and I like it here.
  13. Terry - that is some really skillful work on this old Bullnose. I like the cutout over the turbo , add a vent and it would be a good heat source here in Montana! The tilt is top notch all the way!
  14. A quick mock up. The kit windshield was in really poor shape, lots of scratches and a tire burn. I used a 4 grit polishing stick from a beauty supply using the finest grit, I wet sanded the scratches out. Followed up by the non grit polish end. I then dipped the windshield in a tub of Future to hide and remaining polishing fog. The center molding is a piece of Tamiya tape sprayed semi gloss black and stuck in place. I have never liked the way clear plastic looks just painted. Now I need to do the side windows or make new ones. Alex - I am sure your Astro will look fabulous, just dont rush anything and keep checking clearances by lots of mock ups. I am hoping for the best luck on mine as I have not mounted the cab mounts yet to their new location. I really need to get this in high gear to see if the modifications I have done will work or fail. Thank you for looking in and commenting.
  15. What a great find! I hope you finish it and display it.
  16. Such a cool old truck. I would of never thought it had such an unusual floor pan. Fantastic work on this Brian!
  17. Mike - Congratulations of scoring a hard to find and normally way overpriced kit!
  18. Dan, this is where I would post it.
  19. Billy, I would try making contact with the member "10thumbs" he is very talented and does "lost wax casting" perhaps he could help you out. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/13335-10thumbs/
  20. Yes indeed, those scallops really make it stand out!
  21. Without a picture it is hard to tell what you need done. I have some really old law badges and the mounts on them were soldered. I also have some "peso " chonchos and the same with them.
  22. I have been watching this since day one. This is one of the coolest projects ever and I am really starting to take a liking to this style of modeling. Great work on this stylish truck.
  23. I really like this combo, and it looks very real.
  24. Dan - this just gets better. Oh yeah, real trucks have scratches in the paint
