Fantastic work all the way around ! I would keep the sleeper level with the cab roof. Drop the crawl through down and fill the overhead space with a same size strip.
As for the bottom of the sleeper a strip of real thin styrene could replicate a aluminum strip that could house running lights or fuel tax permits.
I had given up on finding an Italeri WS and stumbled upon this on ebay at a bargain price.
I had originally wanted it for another project but I like the decals so well It will most likely stay as the boxart.
Brian, glad to see you found this forum. I have enjoyed all your trucks you have posted over at Hanks !
Very nice work on the White - the short hoods always looked really tough to me , and nothing better then spoke wheels . (on a model truck )
Congratulations Clayton - That is just awesome. I hope "Momma" is doing well. Is the baby room ready ? You will be wishing "Hobby Lobby" carried diapers so you can use those 40 % coupons !
As Jim said they do grow up fast .
Clayton - those pics are really nice. Man I love that Freightliner, I want to build a model of that one.
Pretty awesome Diamond T with the jailhouse grill also !
I am off to a late start on my "Mack Madness" project. The kit is a vintage AMT from the late 70's complete with the Truck'em up poster add.
My truck will be built as an "owner operator" rig.
Since Terry has a major jump start on me I figured I had better pull some tricks to make up for my tardiness.
Here is all I have to show so far, I dropped each one of those lines at least four times to the carpet..
Stay tuned.
Wow Terry, you never fail to impress me with your creativity . I really like the work you have done and those front spring hangers look great.
So how are those Lego frame stands working out for you ?
I dont like the looks of it and several other trucks out there now. Come to think of it there is not a newer car or pickup I would want to have either. I know that progress rolls on but I dont want to be involved with it.
Clayton - my last two service trucks had auto's in them. (Freightliner Business class) I got to like that when driving through business routes. Those kind where every light is red.
Drilling and pinning can be challenging. You can also use a section of paper clip, bailing / mechanics wire glued in the groove on the offside of the axle for strength. The axle I repaired on the IH Coe I just used strips of styrene.
Andy - I went all over on that thing as there was no powder snow at that time. Hard packed snow (wind blown) and plowed dirt streets that were comparable to ice, which you could really get moving on and glide a long ways.
