  1. You’re welcome and thanks for the compliment! ?
  2. John, an interesting little factoid about the Challenger. I was told when I bought my car that it's actually the last FULL SIZE two door car made for the US. It may not look like it, but considering the car's dimensions (wheelbase 2-3 inches shorter than a Charger), it qualifies as a full size car. That's a far cry from back in the '90's when those were still all over the roads. Sooooo........it looks like I'll be hanging on to mine for a loooong time. It is GREAT for long trips as I just can't take being cramped up in small car but for so long, with the exception of maybe a true sports car such as a 'Vette (plenty of legroom in those-----I've been in a C6). Now if I had a family with kids and all, I can see probably getting some type of four door vehicle. Two doors while to me they are nicer, aren't very practical these days for hauling kids and stuff around when you need to.
  3. There was supposedly a VERY good rear end shot that showed up on YouTube. Here's the video below....... The jury is still out on this car for me. While I hate to see the C7 go (I was hoping it would continue on simultaneously with the C8), time moves on and Chevy wants to stay competitive. Like Bill said, this will maybe get the C5's and C6's prices lower. I actually like the C6 better than the C7. I'd LOVE a 2013 C6 Grand Sport!
  4. While it's not a bad kit, one complaint I have with it is that it seems to sit too 'tall' to me. The frame rails also appear to hang too low below the rockers and while the 1:1 car you can see the frame rails slightly, they don't hang way down on the chassis as the kit depicts. Here's a near dead on side view of a 1:1 '55 (same car). You can see the frame rails just peeking below the rockers a little. Even Monogram's 1/24 '56 suffers from this malady and when I converted my '56 into a '55 years ago, I remember lowering the rockers about a scale inch to blunt that a bit.
  5. Have you tried these guys?
  6. I think you meant the "Charger". I have a Challenger and it's definitely a two door. One of the reasons I dislike four doors is a practical one. Being a tall guy (over 6ft.), I have to have the seat as far back as possible. With the front doors of a four door so short, I've already ripped nice pants twice because they've caught on the door jamb trying to get in/out. Another issue is the waaaay too thick center pillars on today's cars. I have enough difficulties with eyesight as it is and that center pillar blocks my peripheral vision too much. On a two door, the pillar is further back and out of my side vision. If they made true hardtops again for four doors of course that wouldn't be an issue. That'll never reappear though due to way too many Safety Sam's and Sally's in the NHTSA.
  7. I've met Dale Horner a number of times as he lives not that far from me in Reading, PA. A while back he made a statement about his status as far as chrome plating and IIRC, in a letter he said that he did NOT want to take on much more work than he already had with the shut down of Chrome Tech. Dale is about 80 years old and I can certainly understand not wanting to be overwhelmed with orders because demand can be so high. So understand that if he declines your order for a period of time, don't get upset or discouraged. That's the reality of where he is in life, and I can't blame him at this stage of the game.
  8. Oooooh! Very, Very NICE! That color.........it is sooooooo.......'50's!
  9. Beautiful and excellently executed Javelin! I can't find a thing wrong with it! Everything seems to 'go together'!
  10. Check your Disgronificator valve! Those are notorious for going bad!
  11. Codi, that is a GREAT tip! I wonder if that compound can be used for Badger airbrushes though? I have a 3D printed Jag D-Type body which is woefully riddled with those resolution lines. The body shape is perfect, but the incessant sanding to get rid of those lines I don't look forward to. Thanks for showing this, and it is something I'll definitely be checking out!
  12. Now that's a long lost car! Very nice and clean! Almost bought one of these when they were new back in '83, but having never taken on a loan before I couldn't get anyone to cosign which was just as well. I ended up getting a '76 Toyota Corolla. Very slow, but very reliable and terrific on gas!
  13. A 1955-'57 T-Bird comes to mind in regards to fender skirts. To me they always looked better WITH them on than without. Without them, they appear 'naked' to me.
  14. Actually the Javelin was an offshoot of the AMX which was a concept car as early as '66. AMC knew that the AMX wouldn't sell in the numbers as a two seater so they "stretched" the AMX a bit to come out with the Javelin which since it could hold five, would sell better. That explains the reason it looked the way it did. AMC wanted to intro the Javelin first in late '67, then the AMX followed I believe in early calendar '68. And yes, it does resemble more of a Nova than anything else, but AMC being a small company couldn't spend the bucks to come out with two very unique body shells, so a fair amount of sharing needed to be done.
  15. Thanks for the heads up! If I were looking at one down the road it would be the '14-'15 models.....just before they changed to the current one. I've been in the 5th gen cars and to me they were a definite improvement over the newer '16 and up which I feel they took a step backwards. I didn't get one at the time as I got a better deal on my Challenger.
  16. Despite the slight warp Chris, that looks GREAT!! Another familiar car from my childhood as there was a neighbor that had one of these. And yes, most of these I've seen are warped beyond recognition, but you picked up a NICE one!
  17. Oh OK.............anyone familiar with the Central PA area has probably heard of the Farm Show arena and there's been a flea market held there about this time of the year I believe on Sundays through the Fall. Another place just down the road from me in Middletown has a TREMENDOUS flea market called "Saturday's Market" which used to have a fellow that sold all kinds of oddball kits you just don't see any longer. Unfortunately, he passed away a number of years ago and his son took over, but that soon folded and I can't remember the last time I've seen models there, although it's been awhile since I've been through there.
  18. That is a VERY nice '56 Ford Crown Vic! I've always like the '55-'56 Fords over the '57's. The '57 while not bad cars, always had a peculiar "looking up at you" appearance to the front end. I was building a '55 Ford Victoria years ago, but it got stalled due to bad bodywork and I shelved it. I really should try to dig that one back out and finish it up.
  19. That's the first I've seen that! Gorgeous and not in an overly retro way!
  20. Really?? I wouldn't like that at all as I've replaced convertible tops in the past and I did NOT have to take the ENTIRE frame out of the car! That's just crazy! Was this the 5th gen Camaro? Thanks for the heads up.....I do like those but not to the point of that kind of trouble to replace the top.
  21. Both of those are very clean for their ages........especially that '60 Plymouth! Yard sale huh? I pass those from time to time around here and it wouldn't hurt to stop and check those out. You never know what you might find!
  22. Now that is one super slick Judge! This is one of Monogram's nicer 1/24 kits and while some can't stand the scale, proportion and body shape wise, this is 'bout spot on.
  23. Lookin' Good Mike! Very nice overspray on the chassis! Hey which kits had those AMT engine stands? I may have one on hand if it's in a certain kit and I can dig one out.
  24. NICE wagon Snake! I just picked up a very cleanly built (but very dusty) one of those off the 'Bay the other day. I might restore it with some kitbashed parts using an extra junk Revell '65 Chevelle such as the chassis bits and suspension.
