  1. So the merchandise is now down to MSRP or the price you can buy everywhere else.....
  2. Now THIS is how to spend a snowy Saturday! (renamed Brian Griffin by my 11 year old son, he is one of my four rescues) His eyes are barely open as he thinks if he doesn't look at me, I won't ask him to share the couch!
  3. Nope, you are not a spoiler....I appreciate the information! I relied on the staff of Firestone who apparently only knew what corporate told them. Mine are 245/45R 18's...'gatorback' tread pattern. When the 'yet another snow event' passes, I will have to check the specific model.
  4. Primewell are made by the oil company Getty. They were sold/installed by the local Firestone. I bought the car with Kumho's at 35,000 miles....they were okay but not the best in wet traction. I've had Goodyear Eagle's on a Stealth and their all season tires were some of the worst I ever had. These have been better in the snow than the Kumho's. The seal failed on the inside of the rim (facing the chassis) this time. Last time it was a back wheel and on the outside of the rim. They said they inspected the other tires back in November.
  5. For the second time in four months, I had a Primewell brand tire lose the seal between the tire and the rim. When I called Safeco roadside assistance, the operator could not have been any nicer although i think i blew his concentration when I told him the car has seat warmers and I'm in a safe place so I'm good to wait my turn. The tech that came out was the same guy I had in November! He probably jumped on the dispatched call as I tipped him $20 both times for what he did in the cold/snow.
  6. There's plenty of blame to go around on this......
  7. The hockey team moved to the other arena downtown to a marginally better arena. It was built in the mid 70's and had some very minor renovations in the late 90's. There is a proposed plan to demo it and replace it with a state of the art facility but the taxpayers are having a cow over more $$ going to another sports venue. The city is missing out on concerts, conventions and other events with a sub-par arena but being on the hook for two stadiums for a poor baseball team and ever worse football team. The entity that bought it overpriced the seats thinking people would pay big bucks like the demo of Riverfront stadium got. They only sold about 1,100 seats out of the 10,326 so the rest are being victims of the demo. Wanna buy a scoreboard?
  8. Which area HL has the new kits?  The one in Hamilton didn't have any of those last week but has gotten in the Revell Olds 442/FE3-X

I'll be sure to check it out. I love it out here - there's so much more to do and so many more places to go than there ever were in Connecticut.

If you are into Hot Wheels, the Cincinnati Hot Wheels club is having a show on Saturday.....

The 2018 GCHWC Diecast Show & Swap (March 24, 2018) will be held at the American Legion Hall #530 located at 11100 Winton Road, Cincinnati OH  45218

This is the first show they've had in a long time so I don't know what to expect.  $3 admission.

I'll be at the Horrorhound Convention at the Sharonville Center on Saturday. I have too many interests, Homer!

  9. 1) Hobby store or model show 2) On Line (had a couple things damaged as I the carrier plays pop-a-shot putting it on the front porch) 3) Chain store (as I hate the upselling of rewards card, their credit card, push other products, sign up for the frequent seller e-mails, etc)
  10. VW - minimal assembly.....body primed Cadillac - mostly built but unpainted...extra hood and chrome front end Didn't "need" two more projects but for less than the cost of a Hobby Lobby kit I couldn't let it pass
  11. Constructed in 1949 as a smaller version of the Gardens in Toronto, the Cincinnati Gardens is finally meeting it's demise. Homes to various concerts, car shows and other events, it was once home to various minor league hockey teams and the Cincinnati Royals (now Sacramento Kings). I got to know it with yet another effort to bring hockey to town in 1990 with a two year AA league known as the ECHL (Still in the league today but at the downtown arena). Lots of great memories (taking my now 20 year old son to get player autographs after a hockey game, taking mom to a game as she wanted to go but dad had no interest, one of my last father/son moments actually talking dad INTO seeing a game). No taxpayer $$ to build it.....no overpriced private boxes.....no $10-20 parking a country mile away.....sat 10,326 for hockey, not a bad seat in the house
  12. I've had to do it three times.....it doesn't get any easier! My greyhound was the most heart wrenching as his life was cut short because of the care they DON'T get at the racetracks when they are young. You can take comfort knowing they knew they were loved and had a great home for most of their lives. Far too many other animals don't get that kinda home.
  13. My wife and I have the Dysfunctional Family Olympics. I've been married 20 years and it seems that when one of our families does something stupid, the other ones family somehow manages to out-stupid it!
  14. My son (fifth grade) had his basketball tournament this past weekend. A technical was called on his team so the biggest player on the other team went to the line. The gym fell oddly quiet for the shooter. His first shot was shot and hit the front of the rim. From across the gym, I hear the younger sister (maybe 5-ish) of my son's teammate in a sweet little girl voice "MISSED"! The mom was mortified as the whole gym heard it. I'm assistant coach and about fell off the bench laughing.
  15. Thank you for not giving up on her! She'll adapt faster than you think she would. I joke with the wife that I can call our vet and any of my foursome can get a same day appointment. Call the family that I'm blowing from both ends and a fever.....they'll see me a week from this Friday.
  16. WhaHoo!!!
  17. Here's to hoping it's the International Scout SS II
  18. This weekend is the seventh annual My Furry Valentine at the Convention Center. Numerous animal rescues and animal shelters come to one place to help find homes for dogs, cat rabbits and other assorted homeless animals. Each of the past two years, at the event and remote locations (shelters who participated from their base) have found homes for over 800 animals. As of the end of today, 493 animals have a new home tonight. Some of the rescues were cleared of the animals that they brought. I've been one of the volunteers since the first year and it's been great to see it outgrow it's first location. I took off Friday afternoon to help rescue/pet food pantry I work with set up their usual top notch booth. The wife is nervous until I walk in the door empty handed as I can easily come home with a fifth dog. One of the shelters we've adopted from DOES has Husky puppy that needs help with socialization.........
  19. Does the driver need to be checked for a peanut allergy before being hired?
  20. While Ernest T Bass
  21. The past two years, the home town's youth basketball (and baseball) teams have been in a 'rec' league that they don't belong in. If we're playing teams where four graders are showing up with $400 Mizuno bats, it's NOT a recreational league. His basketball teams were getting blown out each week so I signed him up this year elsewhere and he's having fun again even though his team is just over .500 with only seven kids on the team. He is not the stud on the team and none of the kids on the team has a Dad that feels the need to live vicariously through his son on the team. I'm assistant coach and a couple of the other Dad's step in at practices as well.
  22. My fifth grade field trip was to the GM plant in Norwood where these rolled off the line.....1977 actually, the return of the Z28.
  23. Complete and unbuilt......box has seen better days
  24. After two weeks at the Jeep dealer, they gave my boss back her SRT8 unable to find the cause. It's been traded in on a Mercedes SUV.
  25. Cincinnati Bungals re-signed their head coach who is 0-7 in the playoffs......
