  1. While I don't "pin" the door handles, I always pin the side view mirrors and I use guitar string to do this.
  2. Yes it can be done but not recommended, and be sure to wear your respirator while painting.
  3. My bench is a desk that I've owned for over 50 years. Most of the time it's clean as I use it for my laptop computer, paying bills, reading, etc. When I'm working on my models I put some newspaper on top of the desk and work. I cannot leave my models out as I have a grandson living with me, and he's too young to be doing models yet.
  4. I use Tamiya's Silver Leaf and it acts like a sealer to prevent bleed through.
  5. Whenever I'm painting colored plastic bodies I always spray silver, then white primer, and then my color and clear coats. It seems to work just fine for me.
  6. I don't think so as I've been sick all weekend and unfortunately have to take a pass on attending that show. Oh well.
  7. I've been prayin' for Harry for awhile now, and will continue to do so. I feel for the most part that prayers work, but not always. Other people may feel different about this and that's okay too.
  8. Uh Oh, time to call MAACO
  9. Yes, years ago I was talkin' to Dave Dodge of MCW and he suggested that I spray the clear on my bodies within' 24 hours of the color coats.
  10. I don't know 'bout rare, but I was talking about this kit.................................
  11. Was that Scout built from an original ERTL kit, or no?
  12. I've been trying over the past few years to "thin out the herd" and build more and buy less. So far either I'm too busy to build more or I'm not motivated enough. I have plenty of kits to last me the rest of my life regardless of how long it will be, so I've been very selective in buying kits lately no matter what the price is.
  13. What pleased me today was teaching my 3 year old grandson how to operate his(?) Lionel train, and he did very well as it stayed on the tracks.
  14. Beautiful job on those Fords, just beautiful. Congrats!
  15. Does it have cup holders also?
  16. I really enjoyed the contest issue, as I'm able to see what other modelers are building and hopefully motivating myself into finishing some builds also.
  17. Usually hobby shops with an R/C department will have it or order it for you. The Spaz-Stix Mirror Chrome is what you want. Support your local hobby shop(s).
  18. Was at the movies today with my better half and saw Rules Don't Apply with Waren Beatty. While the movie was just so-so, there were lots of late 50's and early 60's cars in the movie.
  19. Hmmmm, I pretty much have our vacations planned with my better half for next year and I guess that I won't be makin' that trip to Utah. Oh well.
  20. VERY nice job on that Imperial and makes me glad that I have one in the stash. I just love dem Mopars!
  21. Being an avid "gasser fan" you are right Bill, as I used to enjoy watching the gassers back in the mid-late 60's and still do at an annual gasser meet called Meltdown Drags which had 620 cars registered this year and a waiting list in case anyone dropped out.
  22. You did "good."
  23. I recently received some BFG Radial T/A's from Chief Joseph at Fireball Model Resins and they are "really" nice. I'll be usin' them on one of my current builds.
  24. Very nice as my first 1:1 car was a Pontiac.
  25. Hmmm, I don't recall ever having a problem with Tamiya, Testors, Black Gold, or MCW Clear paints from the can ever. Looks to me that maybe your color coats were too light in some spots.
