  1. The Great Race, once a time endurance rally for pre war cars, now for any pre 69 vehicle, is doing a rally around the Great Lakes. They started in Traverse City, Michigan last Saturday and will end in Dearborn Sunday, July 1st. They will stop in a number of towns in Ontario including Barrie last evening. I was there and got pictures of the cars as they came in. My original plan was to take pics as they came in and then take more detailed pics after they were all parked. But in the meantime I hooked up with a group from the Model A club and was asked to join them for supper. As I hadn't seen any of these folks for awhile I decided to join them and my detailed pics went out the window so to speak. Anyway without further ado: http://public.fotki....reat-race-barr/ More pics at link!
  2. Curt, That's a cool little vintage racer! Nicely built little Merc. Love seeing pre-war stuff built like this.
  3. Insert sound of latex glove snapping here!
  4. Very nice Poncho. Nice'n low. Great colour combination. Like the under hood detailing too.
  5. That is great! In my mind I see a Jaguar saloon bearing down on it from behind. Too cool!
  6. No wonder the magazines are always running late. What's the rush to get a 2012 issue out when it's only 2010? Just teasing Big Kahuna....
  7. Thanks Daryl! If it's not here by next Friday I will be giving them a call.
  8. To the Canadian subscribers: Do you have the April (issue 167) mag yet? I'm not trying to start something, I'm just wondering if I should be giving Golden Bell Press a phone call or not. If nobody up here has it yet I will just hold off. Thanks.
  9. I understand Chuck Most built a nice custom Hornet. I read about it somewhere. I dunno, it'll come to me.....
  10. R&R should be all right for what you're doing cuz once you put that steam engine on it nobody will notice any imperfections. What? This isn't for the same project?
  11. That's what I dislike about trying to rescribe panel lines. I keep 'jumping the groove'. Currently trying to deepen the lines on an unpainted 48 Ford coupe and am making more of a mess than anything. Trying BMF scriber and back of Xacto knife. Of course I couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it so trying to make my hand follow where the panel line is supposed to be is a challenge.
  12. Great work, Dave. Love the detailing under hood. And those are some seriously wide tires out back. Can almost smell the rubber burning!
  13. Jacen, that is a great find! I think it would look cool parked next to the Batmobile. I could just see Batman and the Pink Panther staring at each other.....
  14. Very cool build. Love these road racing Mustangs from that era. As the others said, you've nailed the look. Congrats!

    Ford Rally

Cool! Love the rally cars. I assume this is a Ford Cortina? Neat little car.
  16. I don't think it's rel so I have to go with model....
  17. Very nice modified Mustang convertible, Mario! Looks very contemporary. Job well done.
  18. Indeed. The whole time I was thinking: My name is Bond, James Bond and this is my car....
  19. Jeff, that is one cool truck! I'm guessing it has been hot rodded but maybe with a diesel, going by that DMaxx designation???
  20. Wow! Fantastic work. Lots of detailing there. Good job, Jon!
  21. Ira, you are having way too much fun creating these things. Great job on this one!
  22. Here are the photos I took. http://public.fotki.com/fordalover/kingston-modelrama-2012/
  23. I remember seeing the Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Superbird in my Dad's Popular Mechanics magazines and thinking they were the cars of the future. Didn't know they were regular cars with wings and pointy noses tacked on. So nostagia wise it would have to be the sixties and seventies for me. In the end though, model wise, I don't have many muscle cars in my collection but lean more towards 30's to 50's stock, hot rods and customs.
  24. Beautiful car, beautiful model, beautiful photography! Well done, sir!
  25. Great save, Curt. Sweet little F 1 car!
