64 Dodge D100 Pickup Pro Street

The work on the carb is stunning. It wuold be amazing in a larger scale but doing it in 1/25TH is spectacular. -
Absolutely mind boggling. I've always heard that to scratch build you need to figure out the basic shapes. I wouldn't have expected someone to take that concept to the extreme. The number of pieces in the carbs blow me away.

Keeping things parallel and square

Its important to know how to do the process manually. For many years the only way to do math calculations was paper and pencil or a slide rule. With a slide rule you needed to estimate your answer. Not understanding the basic process Can only lead to nonsensical answers. Plus if the power is off you won't be able to get the answer you need. -
Mission Impossible - American Graffiti cop car from a wreck
bobthehobbyguy replied to alan barton's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Amazing work. The body changes are a tutorial for conversions. Looking forward to seeing the finished project. -
Stichup I like your approach to how a car look. Rather than a one size fits all approach you chose what looks best for that car in your opinion. I agree a stock car is just a starting point. It will never be your vehicle if you haven't personalized it to your tastes. More than likely someone else will have one just like it.

Nice work. Color choice is perfect. The Revell 32 ford kits go together nicely. A whole new look just by removing the roof. May do one this way myself becuase it looks so good.

I saw one useful article about the technique for painting wood and fabric. Techniques that work for all modeling genres are always useful. -

Well done. Absolutely stunning. Those moon disks are perfect. Cool concept merging the best of old and new. -
Nicely done. Those flames are great.

Very true. Especially when whether intentionally or unintentionally those voicing there opinions sound like only what they like is the way to do something and ridicule others for not doing things the way they think they should be done. How a car appears or how practical it is are choices of those who are spending the money.

MCM Relaunch Update 10/2020
bobthehobbyguy replied to larrygre's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
Although Gregg may have had a couple of issues ready by his own admission he was struggling with the graphic layout. Now that he hss a graphic artist on board I'm sure that revisions are being made to content and layout. In addition the lifetime subscription fell short of goal and the gofundme push did not succeed. A major hurdle at this point is funding. When there's more news we will here it. -
The bottom line is that this is the look that the owners of these cars wanted on THEIR cars. If would build a car the look would be what I wanted for my money. I'm the one that needs to be happy with the look. Thankfully everyone has a different taste .Otherwise everyone would be driving exactly the same car all the same color and type, what a boring world.

Boss 49: A pro-touring scratch-built 49 Ford Coupe

Love it. Another subtle build , no need for gaudy graphics. Also like the suicide doors and belly pan.. Beautifully executed. -
The irony is the people that are complaining the loudest are the ones that are taking the least effort to mitigate the problem. I would love not to have to wear a mask as its not pleasant because of COPD but the alternative of not wearing a mask is not a reasonable option. I try to avoid people as much as possible when I do go out.

Ouch that hurts. Nice to see you rebuilding them. The two red one just scream to be displayed as wrecks. It would be a waste not too and you would gets something positive from the incident.

Nicely done. Enjoy the backround story with the model. -
Got notified that my area is officially off evacuation warning today 9/18. For danger from local fires. 9/8 at around 8pm we we put on evacuation warning. Then at 11pm we were told to evacute. Thursday the evacuation order was lifted around 2pm. We were then back on evacuation warning. Very unsettling to face the prospect of coming home to nothing. Although slightly better evacuation warning means you still have to be prepared to leave.

History Channel, help request
bobthehobbyguy replied to Mike Williams's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
As said none of the channels titles reflect their content. I got rid of paid tv over 4 years ago. Its not a surprise how all the rubes are happy to pay big bucks for all the drivel just look at the current state of the world and its not all that surprising,
